Well...the Kokum Butter, Shea Butter, and Mango Butter are all mixed and in jars to use later.  Preshave, mix with lather, or post-shave...I am not sure how I will use it.  Perhaps I will try what you are doing Zac, and put a little dollop in the brush to make the lather.

I meant to post last night but redid the video. Ols67 Your jar look great and I think you have the right idea. You can do it as a pre or post but in my opinion, start with as little as possible as see what you can get away with. Looking forward to seeing what your experience is like.

Thanks for the video Zac!  I will try a little bit on top of the soap I press into the bottom of the bowl, and see how it goes!

Boys. Thanks for posting this! Does the mixed melted product have a softer texture to be used as a post shave 'balm'?

My mix has a solid butter texture, but I keep it in my basement...the coldest area of my house.  However, it is easy enough to scrape a little bit off, and it rapidly melts with with heat of my hand when the body heat hits it.  Very easy to apply to my face.

I am going to put a little bit on top of my shave soap later today if I get around to shaving.

Yeah...my day didn’t go as planned...I didn’t get to hone my Otto razor, and so I just changed the entire thing...I had to settle for these...

That is the kokum, shea, and mango butter mix pressed into the bottom of my shave bowl.  I loaded my brush on the MDC soap in the jar, and then bowl lathered as usual.  I must say that the little bit of extra butters at the bottom of the shave bowl improved the MDC lather both in appearance and performance.  In fact, I kept thinking of this shave in terms of “TOTAL.”  Total performance, total slickness, total glide, total residual slickness, and the post shave was absolutely spectacular.  I was extremely pleased with how it went, and continue to experiment with this technique.

Don’t forget the shea butter Tommy!  This is ridiculous...our forefathers and theirs before them would probably just punch us in the face, and walk away shaking their heads!
