I recently purchased a Lambda Athena from a gentleman on this forum. It arrived yesterday, and I shaved with it this morning. It is a very interesting and well designed razor indeed. The first things I noticed are how little blade reveal it has, and how solid and tight the blade vice is. It is both mild and efficient; a little milder than I would prefer, but it makes up for it in efficiency. Using a fresh Feather blade, I was able to shave against the grain with it, something that I very rarely do. I took the picture before I shaved, but at the last minute I switched out the Pitralon Swiss for Pitralon Polar. The soap is Mitchell's Wool Fat. The brush is a Zenith boar.

Saw that your Athena is back on the BST; I take it you weren't that impressed with it?

Yeah, I thought the same thing until James told me to run it steep. I still may part with it because I don’t find myself reaching for it much. My Sailors and Wolfman’s get all my attention these days.

I'm a one pass shaver, and if I can't get a close and comfortable shave in just one pass, then I won't keep the razor. I know that may sound brutal and intolerant, but that's how I am.(04-14-2022, 01:24 AM)LOOT Wrote:(04-13-2022, 12:40 AM)draebeard Wrote: It's a really innovative design and excellent product, but too mild for a one pass shaver like me.Did you try running it steep?

is a steep angle possible with the lambda Athena and do you feel the blade when shaving?
what would you say
feels the razor more like a Timeless SB 0.95 and SB 0.5 slim (I hardly feel the blade)
Or more like a Timeless OC 0.95, OC 0.5 slim Timeless? (with noticeable blade feel)
