I can understand your frustration but Scott clearly stated on his site weeks up to the release that this was one time limited edition run of his new Icarus base and when jt was gone it was gone. Hopefully if it is well received it will return in additional scents.

Not frustrated by any means. I plan to make cash.

The replies I read were "more than expected". Probably why Shawn ran another batch on Saturday. When it's gone it's gone I don't recall reading. I read it would be limited like most limited runs. If it was written that I have 100 tubs get it while you can I get it. If I read you can buy in a 3 hour window I get it. But I really dont remember reading that when it's all sold then that's a wrap. Obviously Shawn took a different approach.

I got Catlans and a few BBB way after they were done being sold. Same way I can get this soap and face food if I want to.

The sellout in 2 hours was much different than the hype train of making sure it can be bought as a group from a single site and the reason for the earlier delay on release. After 2 hours that was shot to hell and became a bit disorganized.

You reference Roam as an example of a LE soap with an end date but don’t forget that Will, along with other artisans, have had challenges with predicting the popularity of a product and had soaps sell out in minutes and not to be rereleased until the following year if at all. As with Passiflora, hallows, Leviathan, Bufflehead, talbot, and many others. Especially with launching a new base at a higher price point than most of your other artisan soaps out there, I can definitely see why they would be conservative in the amount made. And then of course there are going to be the people who just buy it up to resell in order to make a profit of it on eBay and the bst sites which is inevitable but incredibly sad.

This isn't Talbot or Bufflehead by the way. You know going in that the window will be small for those. Called small batch for a reason.

Declaration, Wholly Kaw and B&M are not considered small batch.

Not sure what you are arguing here or on the Ebay deal. My soap wasn't purchased on a BST. I'm free to sell that anywhere I want for as much as I want. Again, I got the soap and if I wanted I'd get the face food. More interested in the base than a wood scent tbh.

The entire release was delayed to make sure everyone could get the soap and face food in one spot. And in 2 hours that was no more. You can't tell me that was the plan. No one would delay a release and go through the expense for a 2 hour sale.

Yes it said LE but if you both are trying to convince normal people that means you have 2 hours you would be wrong. Shawn has posted numerous times they got caught off guard and he even made more batches. So there is no way the makers of the product felt LE meant 2 hours from their own replies. So why would LE mean 2 hours for me?

That was you. Who I am defending? I'm just stating my thought process around how Shawn & Scott have done their releases in the past. You are basing yours around what you think should be done and how you perceived them.

With the hype surrounding said soap & "face food" I wasn't surprised it sold out so fast. I don't know what you are getting at with the rest of that statement. Yes, it was delayed so you get all products from one Artisan rather than buying at two, but that doesn't mean that all of a sudden they will have more stock because of it.


At this point, we are going in circles.


B&M is the only Artisan I wouldn't consider small batch. Wholly Kaw & Declaration both still make soap in their respective homes/buildings. From what I understand, B&M has some factory or something along those lines to make LARGE batches of all their products.
