Sorry I've been out of touch.
Staying strong on keto... no cheating unless you consider occasional alcohol (whiskey neat, tequila neat, or wine).
Last time I weighed in I was 159.4, so I broke the 160 barrier which felt good.
I haven't been doing OMAD, otherwise I would be 10 pounds less. But I'm not in a rush, just happy I'm not destroying my health with carbs Smile

Alcohol is calories not carbs, unless sugar is added.

I switched from beer to the occasional Gin or Vodka seltzers.

It’s amazing how much regular beer drinking slows you down. Lotta carbs.

I love tuna, mayo, and onion salad and haven't had it for 1.5 years. Why? Because I had to make mayo' and I just kept putting it off. But the other day I made some and tuna salad came back into my life. Today I made a 2nd batch and tomorrow I'll have some with romaine lettuce leaves as the taco shell. Why do I make my own mayo? The commercial stuff uses highly refined oils high in omega 6 and that is just poison. I make mine with EVOO and it's so much better. I buy California brand "world blend" EVOO for the distinct lack of taste for making mayo. For taste buy their Calofornia only EVOO.

Yesterday I received some Birchbenders pancake and waffle mix, and as per my usual had breakfast for lunch, 2 meals per day at most. The mix makes good pancakes. They don't cook the same as a "normal" pancake or even my CarbQuik pancakes, but they are good. Today I had them just with butter to better taste the mix. They really require nothing more. than butter.

Too, I got some Mr Tortilla unflavored 4" tacos. I tore open one pack and tore it in half and shared it with the wife. In the keto world where bread stuff is merely mehhh to terrible these are actually good. They also come in flavors. Tonight I have shrimp tacos on the menu. Oh, and only one gram of carbs for one taco. Yes, they're small, but I'm told they are the same size as a street taco in Mexico, and there's no law stating that we can only have one. Supper calls.

Tonight, and you'll need to use your minds eye since I didn't take a picture of the plate...

3 leaf/ribs of romaine hearts with tuna salad on them, mild green olives, a handful of small tomatoes, and a bunch of pickled artichoke hearts. Delicious, simple and my plate was majority veggies. It was also more than I usually eat. Have I ever mentioned how much I like tuna salad?

Coming up soon I have beef rib eyes and lamb steaks, they've been thawing for days in the beer/BBQ refrigerator in the shop.

I have been eating potato chips every night. I read the package and 4 chips is approx' 5 grams of carbs. The oil sux since it's highly refined so that's a negative. But I just figure them into my carb' intake for the day. 4 chips is enough for me; it's better than no chips. We need some carbs and if they aren't eaten our body will convert other things into them. Gotta keep the brain alive.

I've been playing with the 1 g net carbs tortilla shells... Typical for me when I get a new ingredient to use in cooking; use it to see what it does and how I can use it. I am definitely learning to make good food that keeps me in ketosis.

Yesterday I finished the tuna salad with them. Delicious! Keeper!

Today I got the wild idea that if chicken on a taco was good with sour cream why wouldn't sour cream chicken salad work? OK, it does and doesn't interfere with the subtle taste of the chicken (canned so I added no sodium). I fine diced some onion for it and added fresh ground black pepper, pretty simple. The veggies I had on the side. I added generous hot sauce to each bite, I'm a hot head and that worked great. I'm loving the "MR.Tortilla" tortillas. Amazon only had the the plain flavor, so I went to their website and discovered they have other flavors. They shipped today.

This is true.
However, just like eating sugar/carbs, consuming alcohol also keeps your liver from burning fat for a while... the liver prioritizes the metabolism of the alcohol (poison) over the burning fat for energy. That's what I was getting at... not common knowledge, so I should have explained it then. Not even sure I understand it fully anymore, it's been a while since I learned that.

You have it right. It puts ketosis on hold.

Today I had romaine lettuce shrimp tacos for the main meal at noon. Delicious. Evening caught me with cheese and other minor things on a plate, nothing major. I almost didn't eat supper. Maybe from habit?

Some flavored tacos coming in today. For my big meal of the day (lately it's lunch) I think maybe I'll make some small pizzas with a few of the multigrain tacos.

edit: So far all pizza substitutes that I've had haven't been satisfying. A huge part of the flavor of pizza is properly made dough and todays faux pizzas were also lacking. What I need is dough/shell with a fermented yeast flavor that is low carbs. Yeah, I know, good luck!

edit #2: the flavored tortillas came in today. The Pico de gallo has a slight flavor, it's very subtle and pleasant. The 3 chilis has a bit of a hot hit to it and for this hot head that is never bad. But is it something I need in my tortilla shell? I already load what I eat with hot sauce. Is the (to me) small hot kick worth getting in the shell? The jury has not yet ruled on the flavored tortillas. But they are 1 g of carbs so they are NOT going to go to waste. Don't take what I wrote as meaning the wife and I didn't like them because that is not the case at all. I just weigh the additional inventory on hand vs is it something I can't do with hot sauce?

Got more food today.

High Key Keto Chocolate Mint Cookies 1 net carb per 7. They are tiny, but they are delicious. They taste like Girl Scouts thin mints.

The other is High Key Almond Flour Keto Crackers - Sea Salt Lightly Seasoned, again low net carbs and they're a delicious cracker. Cheese and crackers are back on the menu. I didn't measure but they are possibly 1" square and approx' 1/8" thick.
