I don’t think that’s true. Most of the folks here are plenty patient. They just don’t like being misled and jerked around. Some continue to give him second, third, fourth chances.....others like myself are finished with Karve.

is there a difference between taking a customer's money with what they assume is an in stock item and shipping immediately vs taking their money, the item not being in stock and then taking months to receive what you paid for?

I think people have a right to be pissed off and annoyed at Karve for doing what they did. it could of been avoided if they were upfront from the very beginning.

As it so happens, I have been wet shaving for nigh on 5 years and earlier for about 7 years in my youth. In the last 6 months or so, I got into this hobby with gusto and have managed to acquire 12 razors. I bought the Karve Chris Bradley brass wide body about a month ago and had it in my hands two weeks after placing the order. Some other razors I have bought took a lot longer to get. I was very pleased with their response time and have no complaints regarding their service or product. Some manufacturers take your money months in advance and I have not yet received either the razor or in some cases the shaving brush. I am not concerned about that as I realize these are artisans and need to keep their shops running. My experience, though, with Karve has been very positive.

I was done with KARVE too... but Jack went above and beyond to reconcile with me.

Essentially, it took them 5 weeks and 3 emails to even ship my order. When I finally received my razor, it was obvious it was the wrong one. Karve then promised to send the correct razor out two days later. Well... after 3 weeks; and two more emails.. they finally sent the correct razor out. Whole thing took almost 10 weeks.

What did they do to make it right? Refunded my purchase, next day shipped the correct razor from canada to San Diego, gave me a free shave soap, and allowed me to keep both razors.

So karve essentially gave away two free razors, and paid for next day shipping to make things right.

As you can guess; this ordeal was extremely frustrating to the point I never wanted to deal with karve again...I am a firm believer that a company should at least be transparent and advertise their shipping times (which they now do, website says expect 3-4 week shipping delay)..and honestly, that’s all we can now expect. I do feel that you shouldn’t accept orders for items not in stock... but if a company communicates the wait time, and we purchase it, the consumer has accepted the delay.

The fact that they took such a huge loss, just to correct my opinion of the Company says a lot. I’m a nobody in this community. I’m not Ruds for Christ sakes.. but it mattered to them enough to take that massive loss. Says a lot.

No news of my #E plate leaving Karve yet.
I have been sent DHL tracking info which says "Tracking information received. Shipment not yet picked up by DHL
April, 29 2020 01:22 Local time".
Not Karves fault. Looks like DHL aren't in too much of a hurry.
It's the 4th of May...so 6 days and it's still sitting at Karve waiting for DHL to do 'something' (anything!).
Maybe (?) it's virus related and DHL aren't bothering too much about actually picking up and delivering items.

Aluminum plates would be available. I got an immediate response which shocked me. They had an F SB aluminum plate left from the old stock. I was asked via email if I wanted to order the whole aluminum razor and I said no, just that plate because I already have the brass and the stainless razors with all of the higher gap plates. I just really want the higher gap plates in aluminum because they look cool with the stainless top cap and handle. Anyway, I said I wanted that plate and they sent me an I voice for it and I paid it. Now we will see if it ships right away. Stay tuned.

So, once again I feel like I have been suckered in to thinking something is in stock and it might not have been. I thought my aluminum F plate would have shipped the day after I ordered it since I was assured that it was in stock and ready to go. Still no shipment and this is the back and forth last week.

After asking if it was definitely in stock and if it would ship the next day, this is the back and forth.

Karve;

We have a fulfilment backlog and we'll get it out as soon as we can.
We have the item in stock though. It's finished and anodized.

Me;

This is the thing that is so frustrating when dealing with you all. If you sell something that you claim is in stock, it should ship within a day or two at the most. If you sell it, it should ship! This is why there is so much negative talk about this company on every forum that you all are mentioned in.

Karve;

It is in stock and it will ship, but there's a fulfilment delay.
I can send you a photo of the plate if you'd like... With one man to make, finish, pack and ship everything, shipping straight away is difficult.

I would appreciate your understanding in this matter.

That was last Thursday and I still haven’t received any shipping info.

I guess Chris Kitchens is 'chief cook and bottle washer.'

Can't or won't get any paid help so it is what it is.

At least he announced the shipping delay on the website.

That's better than the old policy of no information.

If the virus doesn't get him first, you'll get your order.  Rolleyes

Did you miss the shipping advisory in red at the top of their website? It clearly states:

LEAD TIME

We are still working through our backlog of orders, but we are making good progress.  Current lead time for new orders to ship is 3 to 4 weeks, barring any shipping restrictions.
