In my mind this mindset is what keeps the horse getting beat. If you've read anything about what's going on here there would not be room for saying any of it's EXPECTED or acceptable.......
I'm not saying it is acceptable. However, the moment polished SS was announced DFS members began speculating how long it would take to actually get the product in hand. So not unexpected.
Until I came to DFS I don't recall ever hearing of Karve. A member put up a brass karve with two handles, an E & an F plate in the BST. I did a search and read about the shave quality. Reasonably priced, so I bought them. Liked the F SB plate. Went to Karve's site.

Ordered an F OC, and a G SB in brass. Had them in hand within 2 weeks. I did read of a member from Russia who had been waiting a few months, or more, and Karve assured him the items were sent. He finally got a refund. Russia is a pretty good ways from Canada. So figure it was lost between the two. Not an unusual event.

Then I read, on FB that Karve was 'going live' with polished SS DEs on Black Friday.

The impression I got from the page, was if you hit add to cart, the item was in stock, ready to ship.

My previous experience with Karve had been positive ... so ... there was nothing I recall reading that would have indicated I'd be waiting 2 months after immediately paying for the razor.

I was gripping at an ironworker foreman years ago, I told him the wheel that squeaks gets the grease ! He replied, or it gets replaced !

So, figuratively speaking, I'm the squeaky wheel. My correspondence with Karve heretofore has been polite. I figure I might get their attention being rude.

^Really?  In post #1273 of this thread, just seven posts BEFORE your post announcing your Black Friday order (post #1280), I said this:

It is wise to set your expectations low when it comes to Karve razor order fulfillment. There really seems to be no sense of urgency when it comes to timely delivery of a product for which one has paid. The implied message seems to be that one should be honored and grateful for the privilege of placing an order for a Karve razor that one will receive at some undetermined time in the not distant, but not near, future.”

You were definitely forewarned. I specifically recall you replying to a couple of the negative posts by claiming you’d never before had a bad experience with Karve. It was almost as if you refused to believe it until it happened to you. Well, I think you’re now a believer. But to say you didn’t read anything indicating that this was a strong possibility is a bit disingenuous, me thinks.

Acceptable? Not at all. Expected? Absolutely. Would have been completely out of the norm for this NOT to have happened.

I disagree, as far as disingenuous goes. Read post 1253 If I read your post, and I suppose I must have ? ... it didn't impress me more than my own experience up until that time with Karve. Live and learn.

Has anyone received their SS razor yet or were the pics just to buy some extra time? I think from the batch that was shipping they were due to be delivered by the 31st if I remember right...

I think this is BS ... if it takes 4 hours to polish one razor I'll be long gone by the time it is done.

Their reply to my nasty email (1/31/20)  ;

Hi Jimmy,

We're still working on it, the polishing is very time-consuming.
Each razor is around 4 hours of polishing. Which means that's 4 hours of doing nothing else for Chris and that's extremely difficult to manage.

I assure you that you will receive this order. We just need for you to remain patient.

Many thanks,

Just sent this email to Karve ;

Tell you what, forget the polishing on my order. Forget the stand on the other order. # 5016.
Send me a Stainless razor with 3 1/2" handle, a G plate and F, E, or whatever the amount, that will make up for the difference for the cost of the deleted stand and cost difference in the polishing versus the standard SS razor.
If it takes 4 hours to polish one razor, and you're also working on other machining ... you won't last in business long.

Yeah, clearly they shouldn’t be doing polished. Personally, I prefer the matte, and the aluminium razors look great. I find the Karve style looks weird polished.

A polished one is 225 and a matte one is 155, this doesn't make any sense if it takes them four hours to polish.

I was thinking the same thing. I have some experience at polishing metals, as I used to build tattoo machines with polished frames. I think it is baloney that he takes 4 hours for each razor. I'll polish the darn thing myself if I even get my hands on it. I've got two Baldor buffers.
