Holy crap! That thing looks awesome polished. And if you want to keep it looking shiny you can use some protectaclear or a similar product.

New for the Christopher Bradley razor
3.25" brass handles

The CB now has four handle options!

Thanks to interest during last weekend's reddit AMA on r/wetshaving, construction of the 3.25" handle was started earlier this week and the first batch wrapped up yesterday.

Sorry for the short notice. If you miss out, don't worry...the 3.25" handle will be a standard option from now on.

And this release is not capped to the inventory I have on hand right now. If there isn't enough, I'll make more of them this coming week.

I'll need to make some changes to the store for the release, so it will go down for a little bit leading up to 5.

And for those that have asked...yes, I'm also working on all four handles in stainless and titanium. They're just not ready yet.

4" for me is great, the longer the better and also that's what she said

Following the lead of wyze0ne, I procured some wadding polish and set to work this morning. Here is the before photo:

And here is the after:

Lighting can be tricky for me and my photo-fu, so I tried to get a better shot of cap's underside. This has been were the discoloration is the toughest for me to "even out."

I am very pleased with the results of the wadding polish. I had done Flitz polishing at the end of September, so I didn't have much patina forming. I don't mind the patina forming, I just would like it more even. After shaving, I typically only rinse the razor under warm water from the faucet, and pat it a couple of times on a towel. No disassembly or meticulous drying. That is most likely why the under side of the cap and top of the baseplates have been uneven in color after time.

-------------------------------
After looking at the Preview Post feature, I hardly see a difference in my pics!  Oh well, there is a very noticeable difference that my photos don't seem to capture. My Christopher Bradley razor went from looking very nice to looking fantastic!

On a side note, I don't ever recall holding a razor to admire its craftsmanship before I started shaving with double edged razors! My Slim and this razor are so well made. Even my Tech is neat to behold. Maybe it's the lack of plastic/disposableness, maybe because they are shiny, or maybe just because!

3.25

Eight months in with the Karve and still the favorite. I thought maybe the RAW RS-10 would supplant the Karve but it hasn’t. A wonderful smooth shave on the mild plate but the RS-10’s aesthetics, feel in the hand, and final result are not as comfortable for me as the Karve (ymmv).

I did find the 3 inch handle too small and 3.5’ too long. Never purchased the 4’...far too lengthy.

These seem like minor adjustments but I really love the 3.25 we pushed Chris to make. Sits on the small finger perfectly. It just makes a great razor even better...for me.

The real key to the Karve was Chris Kirchen’s ability to eliminate blade chatter and the “cyclical loading” which creates that chatter he talks about. He built the razor around fixing that problem. I’ve gotten chatter from a lot of razors...Blackbird, RS-10, Charcoal and others but the Karve is free of it. Not the only aspect that helps a shave but chatter is not something I’m comfortable with first thing in the morning!

I would kill for an F plate dual comb! I really like the look of that OC. Got to get one in an F plate when they are ready!

Do we know whether the existing top cap will work with the new open comb base plates? If so, will he sell the individual base plates as he does now? I love my F plate, but an open comb F plate I’m sure would be even better...

I would think the top plate would work with the new open comb. In his hand is two different base plate sizes so it would probably be safe to say he will offer the plates in OC with the current sizes he has.
