Here it is after about an hour with some wadding polish, a microfiber cloth and some elbow grease. I'm pretty pleased with the result and can't wait to shave with it again! I'm going to let it naturally patina from here.

Holy Moly, that looks nice! I did the Flitz last month, and I do some touch up with a Maas cloth. But now I want to try what you did. Fantastic!

Holy Moly, that looks nice! I did the Flitz last month, and I do some touch up with a Maas cloth. But now I want to try what you did. Fantastic!

What did you do with the Flitz? I'm interested in polishing my Karve and then letting it patina naturally. It's got a few water spots on it now and generally looks a bit meh as I've been letting it air dry.

A SS razor is definitely priority and will be available very soon. Ti is a very good possibility but, in smaller quantities I believe but, that's further down the project list.

Yesterday the Gamechanger, today the Karve with the D plate. And yes, another exceptionally good shave that was close, smooth and very comfortable. Though I prefer the E & F plates on the Karve, if I’m not in the hunt for a BBS finish the D fits the bill nicely. Light blade feel yet still good efficiency with just enough audible feedback to let one know that it’s taking care of business. Just an absolute joy of a razor to use for whatever shave situation may arise. As a shaving system razor with multiple plates, it only really has one competitor, the Rockwell 6s/6c. And in my humble opinion, it beats it any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Superbly engineered and manufactured for not much $$$. A steal if you ask me....

I totally agree with you. I used the Rockwell 6S almost exclusively for about two years after I purchased it. I liked it a lot. Then I bought the Karve this past May. I've gone back to try the Rockwell once or twice since just out of curiosity. Just not there for me, anymore. The Rockwell will go up for sale when I get around to it. I have the Karve plates from C to F. I pretty much use the F now all the time. Truth be known, as much as I love the Karve, I'm looking for something that will give me a closer shave. I'm not sure where to go with that.

I don't want to derail this thread but, just a quick note. Look for Otto Kampfe Modern Safety Razor on the "bay".  This razor looks nothing special but, trust me, it delivers on par with an Ikon Tech but smoother as the blade doesn't skip when you've got more than a couple days growth as the blade is clamped better than on the Tech. And it's a better daily shaver than the Tech. Great blade feel and oh so smooth plus it's very cheap.

I have all the plates from C to F, and two handle/top plate sets. My favorite is the 3.5 E, but sometimes the C is nice on a lazy day. I have trouble believing that the C is too aggressive for anybody. If I want to kick it up a notch from the E, I’m more likely to reach for the Dart.

I have a tube of Flitz. I put a pea sized amount on say the guard and rub it around with a white paper towel or clean cotton cloth. After a bit, the cloth has dark spots, and then I get a clean cotton cloth and wipe it well. I get a shiny result but never as WOW as wyze0ne got!
