Got mine from the BST with C plate. Tomorrow will be the first shave.

By the way, those waiting for the Z plate, I bet the following brush will be good for your tough coarse beard:

I am 14 hrs post shave with the F plate using an Astra SP. I am just starting to feel some stubble. There is more blade feel than the Paradigm 17-4 but still very smooth. This is a very good razor and the shave efficiency of the F plate is hard to argue with. The fit and build quality is excellent The finish IMHO is not equal to Wolfman, Timeless or Paradigm and it does not have the Artistic look of a Charcoal Goods but the shave is in the same league as these other excellent razors. For me this is the first “affordable “ razor that shaves as well as the high priced modern razors. I did get very good shaves with the D plate but only with a Kai blade. The E&F plates are giving great shaves with any of my blades. The F is giving me a longer BBS than the E but I will need to use them both for a few more weeks to see if this pattern continues. Just my opinion as I continue to use the Karve

Bought a 3" F. I hope it shaves a lot better than Paradigm...
About the finish: you can polish it and get the quality of a Wolfman Wink And, if you want a Charcoal Goods look, use a 'brass ager' Smile

The Paradigm 17-4 and the Karve F have become my all time favorite shavers.

Thanks, mate. We'll see...

Decided to keep the F. Any razor that can get my head to almost BBS in a single comfortable ATG pass is a keeper. [Image: db9b7a3adb13363bd6fc3b0cc7b459bf.jpg]

If I can’t get good comfortable shaves from my Paradigm 17-4, do you guys think the Karve will be better? Idk if my 17-4 is defective or I can’t shave with it but I have had great shaves from my other razors. And I tried a whole bunch of different blades.

I would PM Andy at Paradigm and have it looked at. I think the 17-4 is the smoothest, efficient combination of all my razors. I know of one other person who had bad shaves with his and it needed worked on. My 17-4 is as smooth as the D plate but its efficiency is like the F plate

In my opinion, I think you will.
I had a Paradigm 17-4 SS and I just didn't get on with it. However, today was my first shave with the Karve plate F and it was a fantastic shave and, possibly, the closest shave I have ever had. I much prefer the Karve.
However, the only way to find out is for you to try it for yourself, unfortunately.
Good luck.

Wonderful Celestino!  After all these years of experimenting if I only had a choice of one razor for that ‘desert island scenario’ it would be the Karve F plate. I’d try and sneak in the D plate as well. Wink
