This bodes favorably, considering I have yet to try my D plate, and have since fallen headlong for the CG lvl 2, not to mention the Blackbird. This being said, I enjoyed a moment this evening whilst playing with my toys, made possible by Chris Kirchen, who not only forged the razor (1st production run), but also produced this fabulous bottle opener, which as it turns out can be readily fastened to one's mountain bike...

Efficient with out being overly aggressive , smooth with no irritation and well balanced what's not to like but I still feel something is lacking and I wonder at the direction that modern razors are taking as it seems like riding a bike with training wheels . I like to discover a razor's moods and limitations and learning about a tool is half the fun and with some modern razors this discovery period is missing and they are easy to master in the first shave .Your comment made me think of the chance I had to use the OneBlade for a while. Nice razor and good shaves, but all the while it felt a little too straightforward, and like something was missing.
It’s been fun reading all the comments about the Karve razor on this thread, and I’m hoping to get one at some point. (In brass, or possibly another material down the road.)
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Following on from first use of the D plate, yesterday, today was the F plate's opportunity to shine, or otherwise. And, I tell you, it does not disappoint.
I prefer razors that are efficient in two passes and I will not keep any razor that fails to meet this requirement.
There is a very obvious step up in efficiency from the D plate, however, the razor remains smooth throughout with very little blade feel when compared with the likes of, let's say, the Charcoal Goods level 3. That razor had me shaving on tenterhooks. The F plate is more akin to the Timeless 0.95 OC in feel and safety. I'd put the F plate efficiency between the Timeless and the CG.
Of the two plates, I prefer the F, but as a daily shaver, I need more use to see it is compatible with that routine. The D plate is certainly an acceptable daily shaver. With that said, I'm wondering now if the E plate would completely meet both requirements. I need to buy the 3 inch handle at some point, anyway and may well just add the E plate out of curiosity. All in good time, though.

Is that ginger beer and rum with lime? Never heard of that, but now I have to try it.
