I don't have the Feather AS-D2, but do have the Rockwell 6C and the Karve with plates B and C. I think the B plate provides a shave slightly closer shave than the Rockwell with plate R3. I will try the C plate tomorrow. The Karve is a very smooth, comfortable shaver.

This is want I needed to hear. I ordered the B and C plates without a clear comparison against other razors I own and with some worry that the B plate may be to mild. However your comparison against the R3 tells me that I made the right choice.

I ordered the day the E&F plates were released and they were in the mailbox (I’m 20-30 minute drive away from Karve)

Lucky you. I ordered on the 11th and haven't heard a peep aside from an order confirmation and the explanatory email that everyone got. I'm not complaining though, still waiting patiently.

Meanwhile... confirming the utility of the fine Karve handle. A treat with my Fatip Mk1/Old Type head.[Image: ee90747328b118df59b7418f035df668.jpg]

Had my first complete 3pass shave with the F-plate. This is a very aggressive yet smooth variation. I felt that it was more aggressive than my Charcoalgood L3 and almost as aggressive as the Asylum Rx.

The result of the shave is a perfect BBS with minimal irritation. Tomorrow will go for another 3pass but with the D-plate.

I am looking forward to your review of the D plate as well. In particular any comparisons to a Timeless 0.95 or Cobra Classic

God, you folks are making me drool talking about this razor. I don't think mine has even been despatched yet and it's got to come to the UK!

I'm finding the F plate more bladey in feel but not noticeably more efficient than the D plate.
