Paul, I have the identical Kampfe Star but have not used it in a long time.  I'll have to give it another go.

My favorite lather catcher is my 1907 Ever Ready:

Yeah, do ... it's a different shave indeed, even for a lather catcher. Lovely Ever Ready! I have one of those, but it's not as good a condition as yours. I mean to get it replated. I do have a couple of really quite mint GEM Junior Bar/Elite razors which are my absolute favourite razors. I love the 1912, but there's something just a cut above with the GEM Junior Bar.

I have a couple of the GEM Junior Bars but the two lather catchers I use the most are the 1907 Ever Ready and a STAR (different than the Kampfe STAR we each have).  I also enjoy my 1912 GEM Damaskeene and 1914 Ever-Ready SE razors. There is always a discussion going on as to whether or not those last two are lather catchers.  Frankly, I see them as transitional.  In other words, you can see the lather catcher heritage in them but you can also see them evolving into the modern SE razor.

My two Ladies Eversharp Beauty Razors arrived in the post yesterday........These are short handled Type K 3 versions of the earlier Long Handled Type K 2 Models and are somewhat rare and hard to find......In fact, I have never seen these before....They are as rare as hens teeth.....The Ladies Eversharp Beauty K 3 is the cut down handle model for a Compact Case Set......These have the Hydro Magic Heads and lever function to open for cleaning.....They came with two packs of X 4 NOS Schick Krona Blades.....Cant be bad at that....[Image: eek.png].

One has a Silver Hydro Head and the other has a Golden Hydro Head......I gave these razors the cleaning treatment and they are both in Mint Condition.....If someone had sold these as NOS there would have been no argument.....[Image: rolleyes.png]

These are so Kinky......[Image: cool.png]

So I've been traditional shaving for a year and a half now, and I've tried the following razors, with various blades, to find what was best for me:

Edwin Jagger DE89
Parker 26C
Merkur Futur
Merkur 39C

I decided that a slant head is best for me, and ordered up an Above The Tie colossus slant as my first "high end" razor.

I received it today and I'm thoroughly impressed with how it was packaged, and the craftsmanship is orders of magnitude better than any of my other razors. I can't wait to give it try! My terrible pictures don't do it justice.
