Hi guys!

Lately the Carbon Cx Web caught my attention. It looks so good. Bit I’m not sure if it will work for me and can’t read many reviews out there especially for the .71 Mild plate.

I have sensitive skin, and normal beard (not very populated) that grows in many directions.

Now I can shave every day with my Wolfman WR2 SB 1.05 (wich I love) and Rockwell 6S R4/R5.

I have some RAD for a new good razor that serves me well, like the ones mentioned. Smooth and efficient.

With Carbon, I’m sure for me it should be 0.68 or 0.71. I can see 0.71 is milder because less blade exposure, but not sure about it efficiency.

Also the H&S P075 caught my attention but not sure about it.

Living in Europe, it’s a bit risky to buy a razor because high customs fees, so I want to be sure.

Hope I can get some help and recommendations.

Thanks you!

I have no experience with Carbon 0.71. Only I tried 0.68 and H&S 075. Are they good razors? yes. Are they better than WR or Rockwell 6S? Definitely not. I'd choose WR or Rockwell 6S in any day. I don't think they are better than Razorock GC, which is way cheaper.

I'd instead recommend you to try razors produced in Europe such as Seygus, Smart Helix Apollo and Pils. They are not well polished like Carbon or H&S but shaves as good or better and offers more unique shaving experience. or if you love Rockwell 6S 4 or 5 plate, Henson would suit you well. For me, Henson shaves smoother and as efficient.

Thanks you so much for your response! I’ll take a look at the razors you mentioned!

The swedish Blutt BR-1 also looks so good.

Look into Tatara razors and Hone as well (they have a new SS version arriving in the New Year). Both the Masamune and the Hone Type 15 are smooth, efficient and on the milder end of the spectrum.

Is it worth trying the Carbon Cx? Probably yes. Seeing as you prefer smooth shavers, I would recommend the ++ plate as that has reduced exposure.

The Blutt (Swiss made) you mentioned would be my preference however. It has incredible balance and feels very Wolfman like (tight tolerances) when you screw it together. Even the 1.2 plate felt very smooth to me. BTW, my WR2 is a 1.15.

Two other suggestions for smooth yet efficient are the Yates M and Pearl flexi. The latter being a bit on the heavy side and without the high-end feel.

Thanks!

Wow, though that the ++ plate will be very much for me.

Yes, the BR-1 looks so so good. I think 0.86 should be a good bet.

The Carbon is a great razor, but IMHO there are several others in the premium price range which shave nearly the same, have better finishes, better re-sale value and better customer support.  The Carbon Ti with the carbon handle, may be the lightest all metal "premium" DE razor.  Check the actual weight of all the Carbons you are interested in, and compare those weights to the razors you like the most.  If you do not like an ultra light razor, and purchase the Carbon Ti...you will end up selling it.  IMHO the Carbon "finish" is only slightly above the Razorock stainless models (Game Changer, Lupo .72/.95, etc.) which are a better value proposition.  The Carbon head has the smallest area of the premium razors, which enables it to get under the nose and is more maneuverable (like a sports car or fighter plane).  The RR stainless Lupo has the same small head profile, since it has the cut corners.  My bottom line is "it is all about the shave", and I can get the equivalent smooth and efficient shave from the RR Stainless Lupo .72 or the Henson Ti22 (aggressive model) as the Carbon .68/.71 ( with the equivalent amount of time and buffing).

The RR 68,84 shave similarly-and they are way more affordable.

Smart Apollo Helix is a great razor. Nimble and I like the handle better.

The Carbon shave just fine but I can't say it discriminates itself from the crowd that much.

Another vote for Tatara Razors.

I'm with you on that. Just received the Muramasa recently and it's an exceptional razor, very smooth and mild.
