Now I understand. The Charcoal Goods Everyday is a really good razor IMO. I don't have any idea how the new one shaves but its looks leave a lot to be desired.
The "medium" side is pretty mild, and the "mild" side was virtually unusable for me because it was so mild. Here's a thread with a few reviews:

I have a Charcoal Goods Gen 3 Everyday plate and a Level 2 plate. That is perfect for me. I avoided Level 1 which I thought would be too mild and Level 3 which I believed to be slightly too aggressive. It is interesting how the CG Everyday plate slots just above the Level 1 and just under Level 2, all Gen 3.
Never tried the Gen. 1 or 2 Charcoal Goods but many people think they are superior to the Gen.3 version for which I have several. Love mine. Bought an Everyday when they were first released and then a Level 2 and Level 3 later. Love them all. Kind of wish the Level 2 and 3 plates were designed like the Everyday plate which is heavier as I prefer more weight. Brian told me that the later plates were redesigned to make them lighter. Am I the only one that prefers the extra weight and don't like the trend to go super light?

I got my first Charcoal Goods razor on Monday, and have used it yesterday and today with the same combo as in the picture. This is a Charcoal Goods Gen 3 level 3, and i love it.
I can update you on this thread. Brian wanted to sell me 1000 razors that I could resell, I obviously can't buy 1000 razors. But I know someone else who can buy 1,000 razors, so I spoke to Jason at The Razor Company. He got interested and will reach out to Brian. So there is still hope that this project will become a reality. Of course, not all Charcoal Goods models will be available. I recommended Gen 1 and hopefully levels 1, 2 and 3. In one or two material choices. That last part is just my suggestion, because I think if you're going to bring Charcoal Goods razors back to the market, you should bring Charcoal Goods back to their roots. But this will now be up to Jason if he chooses to complete the project and if Brian accepts that The Razor Company should sell Charcoal Goods razors.

I think Brian sold approximately 2,000 razors over five years, when the market had high demand. A few hundred more might sell, but after that ???. The razor company knows the market better than we do; hopefully, they gonna handle it.
