How do they compare to stirling or chiseled face? Those are my strong scent comparisons. They make the bathroom and parts of house smell like them for while after. Someone will walk in 10 mins later and be like ah so you used your black cherry today. Non of my other soaps have been that strong. If I'm following you correctly, you basically want to be able to smell your soaps throughout the house when you shave. Is that the level you're looking for?

Lol no. Not required, just example of my strongly scented soaps. I'd settle for tabac/mdc/fine soap/rr stength. Just want to be able to smell it during the shave. I also get there's people out there who desire weak scents. Though. It sure why they don't just use unscented.

Regarding scent: it is not what I expected when ordering a sandalwood scent. It more deeply currant than anything else. Very fruity and sweet to my nose, with very little Amber and sandalwood in support, but not weak by any stretch.

Have you tried blooming and lathering it? Many times, this alone is enough to "wake up" a scent...

Yes it's a sweet scent. Quite different the. Prorasso red which I also like. Just wish it was stronger. When I first open it I smell it but after less then a min it disappears basically Sad I can't smell it while shaving. Used mdc rose last night and loved smelling that natural rose scent for the whole 20 mins.

I've tried blooming in the past and got no noticeable difference to justify the increased risk of ruining the soap. Maybe my puck is off. Maybe I'll try another scent and see if it's stronger. Like I said my soap commander I got year ago is weak but the raspberry tea one I bought this summer is strong.(going tru snag one for myself next summer) so maybe a batch to batch difference? The soap commander prefers great too.

I have the Latha Sandalwood, and it truly is a very sweet scent. I do greatly enjoy the currant aspect of it. I would say that the scent strength of my Sandalwood is fairly strong, but perhaps the nature of the scent blend itself makes it so that it does not “punch you in the face,” so to speak.

The Latha Taiga I have is between a pure white and a slightly off-white color, and either the scent strength or the quality of the scent makes it so that it may be a little more noticeable than the Sandalwood. Slyfox, if you at all like pine scents, I would recommend that you try the Taiga at some point. It may not be Tabac strong in scent, but the scent is easy to sense, at least I think so.

Hmm. Sounds like yours might be a little off, but I'm honestly not sure. Never had any complaints about scent strength on Sandalwood (though people yell at me fairly regularly for using currant Big Grin ). PM me your address and I'll send you a new jar. See if we can get this worked out.

Yet another BRILLIANT example of the lengths you are willing to go, just to ensure a happy customer. Top notch artisan, right here, folks. It does not get any better than this in our hobby.

Well done, Will!

Reading this thread made me learn what I'd feared was true...Latha Original is discontinued. Say it ain't so!

This is one of the few scents I didn't like at first but now I really really like. Latha is in my humble opinion the best value in soaps and the one I recommend to all beginners. I will always have a tub in my den. Now every time I shave with Original, it will be a little bittersweet, like missing a friend who's going away even before they're gone.
