Functional. You want to make sure the doors open and close smooth and tight, the blade does not wiggle when seated, and that it clicks through the levels of adjustment.

Safety bars should be straight, no dings or bends, and you want as little pitting and plate loss as possible.

If you can get all of that for $22 youre doing pretty good.

I think Chris (BadDad) pretty much nailed it.

as BadDad says, if I found a $22 Fatboy in the wild in working condition I would buy it immediately. Not a terrible price for a slim either.

It looked ok , no blade to test it with though. It opened and closed and the adjuster made clicking noise, but I didn't look to see if the gap changed. It was close to closing time. Finished seemed ok. I wish I'd took pictures >.<

So far I only have 3 piece razors.

They also had valet razors in box. 3 old spice mugs. And what looked to be two brands of vintage blades sold in packs.

I'd say nab the old spice mugs if they're $10 or less

$22 is a good price for a slim in good working order and with nice plating. I'd say $30- $35 is probably what I'd pay for a fat boy if I was looking.

One thing about the Slim is that (at least in my opinion) you should have the doors open when you change numbers on the adjustment dial. If the doors are closed, it can interfere with the adjustment and blade alignment.
