I have a song stuck in my head...

Five weeks and one day later I finally remembered what the earworm was from my previous post.
It's "Afrikaan Beat", by Bert Kampfert (1962).

The sustained "first two notes" that I was thinking of was actually the string section, starting up at around 00:57.
At least I got the "South African" part of it (sorta') right.

Arrrgh. All it took was a moment of hearing 'High Hopes' sung by Frank Sinatra on the car radio today and the song was lodged in my brain.
