I can’t speak for FNL but Red Cabin is absolutely amazing. Especially is you’re a Tom Ford fragrance fan.

Thanks Carmine, someone sent me a sample and it is a great scent. Hoping FNL has a nice smokiness I've read about. Happy2

Ditto the Red Cabin, although I cannot comment on the TF Tobacco Vanille. The scent works very well for me, and the performance is top notch.

Razor: Valet Autostrop
Blade: Gem (?)
Brush: Rubberset 400/Cashmere
Soap: Hub City Friday Night Lights
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Avon Deep Woods
Fragrance: Azzaro Visit

New to me soap scent and maker had been sitting awhile and wanted to try it. I picked up 2 scents, the other one I had a sample of and used so I picked this to use first. Here's what it says on the site about it:
This namesake is often referred to as the glowing lights that emanate across darkened skies on Friday nights during high school football season. However, this scent doesn't involve the gridiron. We're talking the lights after the lights. The countless bonfires where friends gather to celebrate victory and swap stories of fame, glory, and friendship. I give you Friday Night Lights! This scent includes notes of charred woods (cedar, birch, pine), sandalwood, heliotrope, amber, patchouli, leather, musk, and a touch of sweetness of vanilla, coconut, and marshmallow.

I loaded WAY too much as it loads easy. So after taking the pasty stuff to my face and adding water while working up the lather on my face I was given a shimmering finish to the lather and went to work with the razor (AMAZING shave with it) I did feel it was giving me everything I want in a lather except slickness. I felt some drag with the razor and was thinking the blade may be nearing it's end. 2nd pass after rinsing had a little more slickness due to the additional water added. By 3rd pass lathering I decided although it was a shiny lather, could it possibly take some more water? YES it did and I have to say that I had a glassy shine that I've never seen before with a soap and I've used between 200 and 300 different soaps. The slickness was very improved. Not the best I've ever had but where I like it and finished the shave really chasing a smoothness on the face to match. Just and incredible shave. The scent is strong enough to enjoy and while I am not able to discern the different notes individually, I will say as I read down the list, I can sense each one would be in the well blended scent that is a winner for me. I could use a touch more smokiness but it is enough to appreciate. Decided to add some gas to the fire with the Avon Pump of Deep Woods and topped off with some Visit from Azzaro which is a cheap fragrance that punches way above it's price point. May need to spray a bit more on but it's cheap enough that you can. Have a stellar day everyone !!

Razor - Carbon Shaving with Damascus baseplate
Blade - Polsilver
Soap - Hub City Pipe Dreams
Aftershave- Hub City Pipe Dreams
Brush - Alfa
Bowl - Fine

My friend dlopezcepero David at Hub City sent me this Shave soap & Aftershave as a thank you for me sending him a couple of Yates Precision razors out to him to try which was a class act and I’ll be doing the same with one of my sets. David and I met when we both were getting started at about the same time.  One of the good guys in this hobby for sure.  I thought I do a little write up to show my appreciation for his generous gift.

I enjoy a tobacco scented Shave Soap, aftershave and colognes so this was a new edition to the den.

I loaded off the puck with just a damp brush with the tub turned upside down so as to get the least amount of water in the jar and I’ll say it didn’t take more than 15 to 20 seconds to grab enough soap to build enough lather for a nice relaxing Sunday morning 3 pass shave. Did a bit of swirling on the face and went right to painting on the lather and it built a nice rich creamy lather that had good cushion and the slickness was also  good that allowed the razor to to glide easily across my face.  I went WTG, XTG and ATG and rinsed and lathered up with each pass to get a good feel for the soap. After the 3 passes I had a good amount of lather left so I put some on my face and let it sit while I cleaned up my gear. Then rinsed with warm then very cold water which is my normal ritual then patted dry and then went to the fridge where I keep Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel and gave my face a splash. Let that dry and then it was time for the aftershave which really had some good scent strength to it which I really enjoyed. Overall an excellent shave experience.

Also as a side note. Not only would I like to say thank you to David for sending me two of his awesome products but I’ve been working on 3 new tobacco based scents and I want to start a new Collection based on them but could not come up with a name for it until today when I got home from work and went into the bathroom where the shave soap was sitting open as I dry all my soaps for no less than 8 hrs. So I walk in and say to myself it smells like a Humidor in here. An bingo that word hit me like a ton of bricks! So wella I’ve got my name for one of my new collections so David another thank you for sending me a scent you thought I would like and the inspiration it provided me.

I’d say I’d you haven’t tried Hub City soaps I highly recommend you give them a try!

Great job David and thanks again my friend!
