That does it. 11AM drinking a flat white in a Galway (Ireland) coffee shop right now and just ordered the machined SB. I usually like a milder/new blade combo over aggressive but why not.

I blurted out to my wife that Matt and Alex (in Boston) keep going on about the Blackbirds. I have to get one.

She asked if they are dangerous and fly anywhere near the kids camp.

Whenever I notice that someone has bought the Blackbird, I tell them that even if they don’t like it at first, give it some time. It took me about three weeks to develop the right touch with the safety bar version, and also a few days when I got the open comb. Then something just clicks, and after that it’s one perfect shave after another.

Some do figure out the Blackbird immediately. I hope you’ll be among them.

That Guinness looks good. I hope to try one in Ireland one day. I've heard they taste different there than in the US. I bet they have 2 different recipes. I know Heineken does, but it doesn't taste good here or in Amsterdam. Enjoy your Blackbird. I'm one of those who had to keep trying. I even almost returned it, but I'm glad I didn't.

This is a good question. Before this week, I would have included the Timeless .95 OC, Blackbird OC, R41 2011, and ATT H2. This week, after using my PAA DOC Evolution in stainless steel after months of neglect, I would list only the Charcoal Goods Level 3 OC in antique brass--and the PAA.

I start a new week tomorrow, so we'll see what the future brings!
