I was referring to just the blades vs. cartridges. Everything else is, as you say, debatable.

that's probably true. heck, you can get 1,000 Astra SP blades from Amazon for just over $100. Those 1,000 blades should last you around 10 years.

True, but if I've spent more on DE razors and blades than I would have on cartridges, it's not by much. Soaps, on the other hand...

True, but if I've spent more on DE razors and blades than I would have on cartridges, it's not by much. Soaps, on the other hand...
I guess the only downside to traditional wet shaving is finding the right combo for your face. once you find the right combo that works for your shaves, you could sell off everything else. of course we know MOST wet shavers don't do this. hahaha
