I won’t be back in front of my computer until later this evening. Are there plenty available
for purchase?

So what are the difference between the pass around and the production unit? Just to have it in mind when I try it out.

Finally was able to do a guest checkout from my phone. Ordered the Taiga and the titanium handle for it.

A lot of us assumed the same thing with the REX
And now some people are saying they found out
That the REX is not an all Stainless Steel razor
But which parts are not stainless, seems to be
A well guarded secret or at least the info is not
Easy to find. When all is said and done assumptions
Are pretty useless in the shaving community.
This is a false and misleading statement.

The Ambassador is 100% stainless steel.

However the first two production batches in 2017 (m3 and m4) featured a zinc plated steel spring that was sandwiched in between the guard and blade tray and performed the adjustment mechanism.

We heard complaints of oxidation forming from this zinc plated carbon steel spring. So anyone that contacted us was instructed to send it to us for the new Stainless Steel spring that went into all razors starting in 2018.

We paid shipping both ways and performed the swap at no charge of course because we guarantee the razor for life.

There are less than a few hundred of these early Ambassador razors on the market now. There are thousands more of the 2018 and later models.

If anyone has any worries about their razor we are happy to help with it. Another great reason we did serial numbers is so we could track and notate changes made in our production and note any service records on individual razors that have come back to us for work.

Hopefully that clears up this issue.

Thanks,

Matt

Thanks Matt
That clears it up big time.
You just got another customer, because that question
Was the only thing stopping me from purchasing it

This afternoon was sent to the george1906 before I received his message that he already ordered one
So I had 3 more shaves using PolSilver SI, 7 o'clock SharpEdge yellow and Astra SP blade and got very comfortable smooth shave and feel that Astra SP were the best. I used lowest setting for all shaves and still got great results. I know that final version has lower settings than test version and will be very interested to try it especially with titanium handle since it will affect the weight and pressure. Even to those who usually prefer low settings on other adjustables I would recommend to try this razor even if you are going to use the lowest setting only. For example I wasn't completely happy when using 7 o'clock SharpEdge yellow blade with the Rex Ambassador and much lower settings but it worked well with the Taiga
I would like to thank Homelike and CK89 for letting me try the razor and I hope there will be a pass around of the final version as well

I haven't been around any shaving forums much the past 18 months or so.  I decide to stop here and stumble across this thread....  I have a weird fascination with adjustables...dammit.  I don't need another razor...  I thought I could just be fine with what I have, but nooooo.

No you can't. The only possible acceptable excuse is Rex Ambassador but they are not the same
