Sorry, I guess I wasn't too clear, but the WR2 took me a couple of shaves to find the right angle and once found, it was a very small angle and so I could lose it easily and get either a rough stroke, or one that was not efficient. The Start was very to find and maintain the proper angle without much effort. I could still lose the angle and have it turn very aggressive, but it was more forgiving in that it allowed a wider range to play with.
Makes sense.

Final shave with the Start. Tonight was with the .69 plate. Again, I was surprised as the shave went very smooth as the other shaves, but not quite as efficient. This time it took me two full passes and a half pass for under my chin area. Still, I ended up with an effortless BBS. The shave was closer to that of a Mamba 70. This is the plate that one uses when he is in no rush and just want a relaxing three pass effortless shave.

Overall, I am very impressed with this razor set as the razor itself allows different angles depending on what kind of shaver you are. If you are one of those that "want to feel the razor mowing down my kevlar coated beard", this razor with a slight angle adjustment will do it. If you want a "ghost shave" where you have to check to see if you remembered to load a blade and end up with a two pass BBS, it can do that too.

If you don't have much invested in many different razors, this set is perfect as on one end you have a ghost shaver similar to a Mamba 70, in the mid range, you have something equivalent to the Game Changer 84 (both SB and OC), and on the high end, you have something equivalent to a Wolfman WR2. I probably will not be picking up this set because I have all those razors already.

Still, I think others will be satisfied with the purchase.

This is exactly what I thought:
Start .69 similar to GC .68 or Mamba
Start .90 SB & OC are like GC .84
1.18 is very close to WR2 1.15
He is making one more model soon Start 1.3 probably will be similar to WR2 1.25 or 1.35.
I also wanna say that WR2 1.55 is incredible razor.

Just got the Taiga prototype and without even shaving with it yet, I can tell this is something special!! Outstanding machining work and the adjustment mechanism is super smooth! I had ordered one when they went on sale the other day and mine shipped today. I have the Start 1.18 and will definitely get the 1.30 plates when available!

The West Coast Start is packed up and will be dropped off to USPS sometime today so Captainjonny can get a good start shaving in the new year with a good Start razor.

The razor arrived yesterday and I plan to shave with it through next weekend. I would like to try all 4 plates (lowest blade gap to highest), before I send it on, and unfortunately my facial hair does not grow that fast!
The packaging is first class, and IMHO the polished finish is excellent for the price point. The information on each plate has been engraved into the steel. The parts fit together tightly and after inserting a blade into the .69 SB plate...it is tight, and the alignment appears to be perfect. I cannot wait to start shaving with this system, and will post reviews shortly after I start. I also plan to compare the Start to the RR GC .68, GC .84, and RR Lupo.
