The 0.8 has a little more 'spring' than the 0.9....as in it's easier to compress with the fingers.
With the 10 X 0.8 X 15 mm spring loaded, the dial turns smoothly and (I felt) quite easily....at least it did not have
that slight grinding sound that came from turning the knob with the 10 X 1 X 15 mm spring inserted.
However, the 10 X 0.9 X 15 mm spring split the difference very well, providing a pleasant, tactile and responsive
experience...my fave of the lot so far. That's the one Im going with for now
I have asked them to quote on a custom SS 316 spring with specs of 10 X 1 X 12.7 mm. Set at 5.5 coils.
Do you think the replacement spring supplied by HLS (and mentioned above) has the 1 mm wire gauge, ie 10 x 1 x 15 mm?
I thought it might have the 0.9 mm wire gauge, but I haven’t actually asked them to confirm, nor have I measured it… so it was just a guess…
