Thanks, Dave.
I really enjoy this razor for my head shaves, but find it a tad mild for my face shaves (even opened up more than a 1/4 turn) and would be great if they could offer their aggressive plate in aluminum.

used the razor last night, cinched it down tight like I did when I used it during the pass around and it had no problems mowing through the forest!

After the shave battle with my champion FrankenRazor PP1489, the Henson AL13 Mild is almost there.
With some time It'd be my new standand as efficiency.
But I do not like some details, as the not-so-easy cleaning process.
And the US only distribution, being me in EU.
I can not find even the "dual tone" version in US shop.

More details in the FB, because It's easier for me to explain in my language ... and you can read in your.

I enjoy this razor for head shaving (I got the mild). Face shaving provided a marginally smoother shave compared to my Merkur 34C, but I am also relatively new to DE shaving. I am new to DE shaving. I have been a head shaver (cartridge) for many years, and I was too intimidated to try DE shaving for the head. The idea appealed to my traditionalist senses, but I thought I could not use a DE razor on my head. My son got into wet shaving recently, and I was too curious not to try it myself. I purchased a Merkur 34C, which seems to be the standard against which all razors are compared. When I read about the Henson on shaving discussion boards, I read that this was a potential "disruptor" to the industry, particularly for new DE users like me. It looked like a promising razor for head shaving. Photos of this razor did not inspire my "traditionalist" instincts, but all of the engineering data intrigued me. Upon arrival, I find the look of the razor very nice (blue is my favorite color). It does not look as non-traditional in person, and it is very attractive. I like the looks. Performance on my face provided a somewhat smoother shave than my 34C. The head shave was extraordinary. This is an awesome head shaving razor. Two passes on the head and it was damn fine; touch up on back fringe and this is without exaggeration the smoothest head shave I ever had. Compared to cartridges, I could never get the back fringe to be smooth no matter how many times I raked a cartridge across.

Ok, for the record has anyone shaved with their MEDIUM aggression razor? Perhaps I am confused and the shavers in this thread already have that one. I thought that these reviews were for the initial MILD version. I am confused.   Huh

The one on the passaround was the medium head. I checked.

From Henson:

We are sorting out the labeling topic before we manufacture more.  Ideally we will move away from Men's and Women's...nobody like these terms as they are not inherently descriptive across the board.  With the L:001M(W)   L00:2M(W) and (dot) and no engraving, we have done this to a) keep the baseplates and topcaps in groups.  Our goal was to machine batches at a time...because it contained variables...and  having several dimensions as influential on the net resultant of exposure, made this a good idea to us.  Especially seeing as we are controlling the exposure to witin .0005".

I used the medium for most shaves since October, maybe? It's become my go-to razor with a Nacet blade.

So, to what other common usage razor, e.g., Gillette Tech, DE 89, etc., would you compare the shave "aggression" level?

I have the medium which was initially the men's razor. The mild was the women's originally. I put the Medium at tech level feel/aggression but more efficient.
