Glad to be here! I just finished a multi-year straight shaving kick. I'm now getting back into DE shaving thanks to the Blackland Brassbird, and am even mulling an Osprey for my first adjustable razor. I'm a big fan of Merz's shave store in Chicago and wish D.C. would get its own shave store - anyone know a good place in the area for picking up at least soaps and DE blades?
Welcome to the forum bjlefebvre. It sounds like you will fit right in here (as long as we don't have to say your name three times fast ). I myself can not help you with a brick and mortar recommendation. The closest B&M store to D.C. that I know of is Pasteur's in NYC, but others may know sources closer. (BTW Pasteur's is excellent if you are ever in the Big Apple, and they have an online presence too.) Anyway, welcome aboard. If you stick around, you will soon become aware of many well respected artisans who offer products online.

It is hard for me to imagine the adjustment from a straight to an adjustable!
This hobby is likely small for DC real estate prices at a brick and mortar level.
I know people will say Pasteurs but it’s a completely different model.
Welcome to DFS. Regarding shaving supplies in DC area. There was a time when it felt like I practically lived in DC because I was traveling there so much. While it has been a number of years, I don't recall there being any shave supply shops in DC proper. I used to occasionally pop in to the Art of Shaving in Pentagon City when I had forgotten basic shaving supplies during a trip. Although I believe that location closed when most of the other sites did.
You would think that there would at least be something in surrounding VA or MD given the confluence of military and government activities.
