Find Proraso good value for money (even in States almost free) and really like the sandalwood scent but it average in glide, cushion and residual slickness while its postshave leaves my face extremely dry and somewhat irritated.  Again great value for money but middling when removing money from equation

This is part of the soap producers, which I consider to be the top ones. I think this is enough. Let other manufacturers not take offense at me. I can still put photos. And all these soaps, for me personally, are better than the one they are talking about here.

The soap pulled away from the container - yep. Happens with almost every brand. For me personally it’s happened with others that you show in your photo of premium soaps.

YMMV reigns supreme and so you are always entitled to your opinion. I have heard you as have others.

However I don’t agree with you, or your style. Maybe it’s a language thing, but it’s seems like you’re going out of your way to prove your point in a somewhat over the top manner. I won’t argue your opinion, so stop arguing others that don’t agree with you.

Lastly - if I made a bowl lather that looked like that with soap that was made from the milk of Jesus himself, I would probably disappointed too

Addressing the soaps you identify as top 20, not the Cutting Edge soap photo which was addressed with polite dismissal; really there is nothing insidious regarding soaps drying and shrinking - in fact sometimes intentionally leave soaps to dry a bit to slightly alter characteristics such as scent if too strong for tastes.

Wish I could point to the photographed soaps and proclaim you an ignorant twit BUT the soaps highlighted are good soaps: will even go so far as to suggest at least 3 of them make my top 10: Wholly Kaw Siero, Zingari Sero and DG MilkSteak.  I would add ABC croap, Xpec, Pannacrema, SMN and Panama to round out the top 10 of current production soaps.  However, the absolute top 3 soaps for my skin and beard based on the criteria of glide, vastly superiour cushion, residual slickness and especially postshave are in ALPHABETICAL order: Cutting Edge, Ethos and Grooming Dept each as superiour as progressing to the next highest ranked one as they are superiour from their immediate inferiour.

Without being rude, question the wisdom of enjoining an artisan's thread only to disparage his product.  It may be a cultural thing or language thing but, without being mean, it is less than gentlemanly.  Were Dave defrauding people, get it and it would require redress: if his products presenting a danger to public health would get it being redressed; such was most definitively not at issue in the present case.  There are a few soaps listed, without highlighting artisans, that despite being highly touted literally dried my skin to point of desiccation but didn't feel it necessary to try to destroy their business as they doing their best, doing no real harm and have a following.

I ripped through an entire tub of this stuff and can say I’ve found any faults to it at all. Didn’t leave me wanting for anything in any category. A premium top tier soap imo that I’d always like to have on hand.

That is a wonderful report, and my more limited experience is also laudatory.  But as my experience is more limited, I am curious to know about how many shaves you got. Also, do you have an idea how hard your water is? —  Thx.

No idea how many shaves ...but on average I shave twice a week for two passes each shave and my order was from the last week in January. I load pretty heavy and have only used dense 28-29mm brushes since that time. I have used other soaps during this time but the CE was the choice more times than not since then. Not really sure where my water falls currently on the hardness scale so I can’t comment on that. I find the base to be a real quality product.

Just got Dark Orange WOW! what a great scent! Very warm and rich smelling. I can't wait to take it for a spin.

I've been Cutting Edge soap this past week as part of a pass-around. Bravo to dfoulk for the soap and for including his soap in the passaround. David and I have had many discussions about soap over the years but this is the first chance I've had to try out his production soap. It really has been making my skin feel noticeably better all week. I've tried both the Lemongrass and Lavender and the Citrus and Wood and think that they're both very nice and not overpowering. I've put the soap on my to-buy list for after I've winnowed my collection.
