I'll try the new formula before I condemn it.

I had 15 or so shaves with the new formula. It’s actually quite good but the previous tallow formulation is better imo.

Dang it. I looked up this thread to ask this question because my Haslinger Schafmilch has about maybe 5-10 shaves left. Anybody else try the new formula?

I'm glad to see this thread.  I had heard about the reformulation as well.  Apparently Haslinger is going all in with the animal friendly approach.  As a result I bought 3 pucks of the tallow formula because it is one of my favorites.  And I also notice that many here also like Mitchell's Wool Fat, as do I.  They are somewhat similar yet different as well.  MWF is a little harder to lather.  The scent of both alone leaves a little left to be desired.  On another unnamed forum we got into this very discussion about the similarities and differences and I posed the question of what would happen if the two were combined.  Of course, it was suggested that I do exactly that and let everyone know of the results.  So I did.  I grated a full puck of Haslinger Schafmilch and half a puck of Mitchell's Wool Fat (MWF puck is about twice the size of a puck of Schafmilch), mixed them up and pressed the combination into an empty TOBS tub I had laying around.  From that first lather I found it hit every single point that one or the other was missing.  Because of the Schafmilch in there it lathered up extremely easily.  It created an amazingly slick lather with lots of cushion.  Post shave feel is incredibly moisturizing.  And the scent of them combined is different than either alone and I prefer it by a large margin over either alone.  Others tried a sample I sent and others played with the ratios to account for differing hardness of their water.  But all seemed to really like the combination.  So much so that we gave it a name and I came up with a "label" for it.  See below.

I have heard from a lot of people that they find very little difference between the tallow version and the new vegan formulation. Haslinger is a quality company and I can't imagine they would not replace it with something that performs as well, or almost as well, as the previous version. I have not tried the new one so I can't say one way or the other.

I have a little of the old sandalwood with tallow left and when it's gone I will buy no more. It's a good soap, but the best artisans of today have "buried" the old school soaps for the most part.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Really a great performer but what lets it down for me is the scent of Tallow, which I don’t care for.
The new version will obviously solve that problem, but will the performance suffer ?

I agree on the scent, Claus. I liked the performance of the tallow soaps, even had backups. I gave them all. Their scents made me nauseous. That coconut and the schafmilch had horrible chemical scents, IMO.

I only have Scharfmilch and Coconut left. When finished I’m moving on. Great affordable priced, but slight off putting scents with that Tallow in the background.
Valobra Tallow also have a slight odour in the background, but it does not off put me quite the same way as Haslinger Tallow soaps does.

I was thinking about getting a puck of the coconut, but the reviews of that scent do not seem to be positive.
