Why has there never been a thread dedicated to this gem?  

Simply a superb shave soap made with beef tallow (confirmed via e-mail with the co.) that not only smells great, but works as good as any high $$ artisan soap. For those worried about post-shave feel then look no further:  it's superb. I used it today for the shave #4 on a Gillette Brazilian Platinum Plus blade in a PAA Prismatic razor and it never ceases to amaze me the ease with which whiskers are removed with this soap.

I have read of many who only shave with this soap exclusively after using it as it simply ticks all the boxes. I can understand why. Sure, it doesn't have some hoidy toidy French name plus it's readily available as well as economical, nor does it use some exotic ingredient like toe jam from an African Dik-dik.

Didn't care for the scent, but it was a solid performer.

it's probably the easiest lathering soap that I own. the only thing that might rival it in its ease of lathering is tabac.

I also started to use a new puck of haslinger (mild) for my head shaves. I just rub the entire puck on my head as if it were a shaving stick, wet my hands and rub the soap into my scalp until I get a satisfactory lather. I got this tip from razorock.

Have a few pucks of Haslinger. All perform really well and scents are very light to nothing which is good if you're really looking for your cologne to stand out.

My wife said the scent of the sheep's milk is a dead ringer for one of her perfumes.

I've not yet tried their shave soap. I did buy her the shower gel a couple of weeks ago. Whether or not it's the same scent as the soap I might never know. I'm not really in need of any soap in the near future and lanolin makes my face burn. My wife absolutely loves the shower gel and comments about it frequently. To me, it does smell very feminine. I pick up the resemblance to Romance perfume. Only because she commented though. It wouldn't have occurred to me on my own. It's so faintly scented to begin with. Probably wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if it doesn't linger.

I wish I could be confident I wouldn't have a reaction to it because it does seem to be a very highly regarded product.

I have praised Haslinger plenty on here. It's one of the best soaps I own and, it gets plenty of use. Actually, I need to order a replacement because I'm just about finished with Sheeps Milk.
