Anyone ever tried this? Any value in it or not?

Sorry about the missing "n" in the subject, but the subject can't be edited. Damn!

beamon, I do it every time, whether a new blade or a reused one, just before placing the blade in the razor. I do it for both single edge and double edge blades and think it does help. With a little obvious caution there should be no blood letting. Wink

I believe SharpSpine does it the first time he uses a new blade but am not sure if he does it each time he uses the same blade.

I do palm strop every new blade to smooth it out as most of my blades feel a little rough for the first 1-3 shaves if I don't. I've tried stropping a blade that was running out but it didn't seem to liven it up at all.

I believe all users should be able to edit their thread title by using the 'full edit'. in any case, I fixed it for you.

I found an easier and safer way. I also do it before the first use. I use a wine cork. I run the blade in a cutting motion a couple of times and voila! A good friend shared that technique with me and it works great.

And, I mostly do it with SE only.

I've tried corking. I stopped simply because it was one more thing to keep track of and didn't do any better than my hands. My hands are always with me. At least they better be or shaving is the least of my concerns.

Big Grin Indeed. I am an amateur guitar player and in retirement I gig with friends, so I am very careful with my hands, very Smile

Thanks, Andrew. Maybe the next version of the s/w will allow it.
