One would presume that part of the Wolfman market strategy (be it formally planned or serendipitously). However, bear in mind, one doesn’t buy a craftsman’s hourly labour but rather the many years learning his trade to perfection. Further, James’ equipment cost is already absorbed in his core machining business.
Under no circumstances is anything in my statements critical of Wolfman as am a proud and happy multi product owner (and would buy again if a new razor or brush handle design to my preference released).
Back to H&S, Aji does the polishing; yes, Aji. It takes him many hours per razor.
Whilst would never slam entrepreneurs for their business model unless found unethical (One Blade)...those mentioning competitive razors need look, even glance at some of machining and polishing work. Even in internally developed promotional photos, wavy edges, unchamphered/undeburred edges and swirl filled polishing is obvious. That is fine at a price point but it unfair to compare to others doing things to a world class standard, declaring them worthy of same market value. One would never point to a cheaply tarted up prostitute and compare her to a lady in elegant evening makeup - at least one would hope....
