If you use the POMP aftershave, Tommy, it will add even more to the formalities Smile The aftershave brings out the scent's natural qualities, making the boozy notes more prominent.

TRC should have another batch of aftershave on Thursday or Friday.

It is UNIQUE MO! Complicated blend. The dark fruits have my brain curious.... Plum, black currants, blueberries? A profound shave soap. Men who typically done like rose will love it as it is not a femme scent. Well done.

Thank you for the kind words TommyCarioca

The Dark fruits accord was a blast to design. It a fantasy note.

I never considered rose to be a specifically feminine fragrance element. Two other rose compositions from the recent releases I highly recommend

La Rosa Profunda

WCS Amber & Rose
I have La Profunda! I guess one more rose won't hurt.

Nice lather from POMP.

I have received feedback from several wetshavers who do not usually enjoy rose-scented soaps, but they have really appreciated the scent of POMP!

Congratulations on the new Donkey base. Really wanted to try this one; would appear an instant classic

I have evaluated a LOT of soaps, well over 200. I have about 80 soaps that are good enough to be in my rotation. Although have have many Grooming Dept formulations in my rotation, I did not have any DonkeyBase soaps. I purchased POMP for Christmas. I could give a detailed evaluation of the soap, but it should suffice to say that DonkeyBase has become another formulation in my Super-Elite category. That means the soap is easy to load, easy to lather, has superb primary and residual slickness, protects my sensitive skin from irritation, and leaves my face feeling great for a full 24 hours or more. In my opinion, it is as good as any other soapbase with the possible exception of Kairos SE, which is my top soap base of all time, but I understand some people consider DonkeyBase to be superior to Kairos SE. Both bases are so good that I won't quibble over which is best.

Normally, I do not consider scent in my evaluation as scents tend to be highly subjective, even more so than performance. However, I have to make an exception in the case of POMP. I absolutely LOVE this scent. It is fairly strong, but not overpowering. It is a rather complex scent combining rose, bourbon, dark woods and dark fruits. The various notes blend well together. While Mohammad has produced some amazing scents, this is rapidly becoming my favorite.

While I definitely do not need to add more soaps to my collection, DonkeyBase is so good that I have to have another soap in that base. I am ordering Amber Rose, which while being another rose scent, it completely different than POMP. I am hoping the scent will be just as good.

One thing I forgot to add in my review of POMP is that I detect a slight smoky note. It reminds me of the smokiness of a lightly peated Scotch whisky or a British blend pipe tobacco containing smoked Latakia tobacco. The smokiness is quite subtle, but adds an interesting vibe. I suspect that effect came from the dark woods accord, but since bourbon is aged in charred oak barrels, that might be the source of the smokiness.

This new Aion Skincare nourishing balm looks to be really good. Anybody have experience with it they can share?

I'm excited to announce the return of some of the Grooming Dept's most popular scents in the Kairos SE formula, except Laundry II which will be in the Kairos base. This special release is in celebration of the launch of the Grooming Dept's new alcohol-free aftershave, which has received an outstanding reception. I'll share the labels here over the next few
days.

If one purchases Laundry II Soap + the Laundry II aftershave, one will get a 20% discount on the bundle.  Here is the label for the Laundry II aftershave.
