Marko Boomer is inspired by the 60s/70s Brut. Anything Brut starting from the 80s is quite different. The older iterations were more anisic, animalic, stronger lavender, and overall spicier.
Yeah, I bet he never smelled the original
And, today, I used the Regenwald. Before shaving, I wasn't sure about the scent - very green (of course) and lightly tropical but I wasn't sold. During the shave, though, it improved and improved, and took on what I thought was a slight lemon-grass nose, although I don't see lemongrass as a listed scent, so maybe that's the myrrh or musk or, heck I don't know. What I do know is that I can't wait to use it again tomorrow. As for Fortis base, I wasn't sure what to expect. The take-away: I loved it. Sure it lathers easily (any half-decent soap can do that) and sure it's slick and the razor just glides (and while rarer, lots of soaps are slick these days), but where it really shone was in the facefeel: during the shave it creamy and rich in a way that was, for me, practically unique-- and I've been cycling through a number of top artisanal soaps recently. This felt great. The shave, as a whole, was great, too, as was the aftershave feel. Fantastic stuff.

Lesser Thank you for sharing. I'm delighted you enjoyed Regenwald.
Regenwald scent doesn't contain any citrus or lemongrass.
Regenwald was a blast to compose. When I usually see scents that say "rainforest" they end up containing many coniferous notes. That never made sense to me. Regenwald is a green, vegetal, humid, wet, floral, tropical fruit, resinous, earthy dirt, forest floor, mushroom, musty, wet wood type of scent.
Part of the scent inspiration came from learning about the olfactory profile of Humus, which is not the same as chickpea hummus
I'm happy to announce that @"TheHandleBar" is now a Grooming Dept stockist! Thank you for your business, Gareth!

Thanks for the Opportunity Mohammad. I'll miss this one when considering future releases.
That’s such a wonderful scent.

I'm delighted you continue to enjoy Jasmine & Civet. I'm releasing the scent in the Kairos base. Have you checked out Unum at Italian Barber? That's the final Lusso release.
Mo! I bought Otium from WCS. I'm really looking forward to it, I'm very interested in what is special about this database. These two soaps are one of your first bases (I really like them). I now have 13 cans of your soap and almost all of them are in different bases. Each is interesting in its own way. These two are special to me.

Thanks.
I have seen the Unum at IB.
I'm considering something in the Nai base though. As its one that I'm yet to try, and the minty-ness of Otium sounds interesting.
Shipping to Canada though...arrrrrgh. Haha
