As far as I know, mails are being sent prior to each official release. I always shopped from GD directly and I never missed a drop. One should just register on their official site and a mail will be sent one day prior to each release.
I don't do any check-ups as of late, just check Mo's instagram page from time to time and thst's it, the mail does all the work for me.

This. Mohammad's soap are second to none. But they are not the only second to none soaps.

Not in my universe they aren't. I'm done pleading for emails. If a vendor won't notify me - and do it in the way that is easy for me - then regardless of his story why, my cash won't go to him.

It is such a competitive environment that I am no longer going to pay $26 for 4 ounces of soap. There are WONDERFUL soaps now on the market in the $13-$18 range with free shipping included.

His Fortis formula is only 17 dollars. That’s coming November 5th.

But yeah, based on what I know from Instagram Mo’s biggest issue right now is space. Which is why he can’t keep stock and production at a high enough level to meet demand. He doesn’t have a whole warehouse to work in like a lot of the other artisans do.

I think he only cures soap on like one rack or something, hence the constantly low stock.

Don’t know when he’s moving but probably sometime next year, and when that happens I’m sure it won’t be too late if you want to give his soap a go as it won’t be as hard to get your hands on it.

Wet-shaving isn’t a hobby anyone should get frustrated over.

Mo had no knowledge nor did he grant approval of this post, apologies for hijacking his subforum.

This a response going way beyond Mo, addressing a lot of vendors and likely to upset some forum members.

I get frustration with personal communication styles be they the frequency, tone or prose: nothing to do but make a decision if this the right vendor for you in that instance.

I get frustration with timliness and deadlines offending your sense of temporality

I get that eschewing preservatives may lead to product spoilage that is unacceptable to your sense of aesthetique

What I don't get is complaining a vendor's price point doesn't fit/match another's, especially one so low that no reasonable person could expect to make a living selling it, then adding the coup de grace of demanding free shipping because theft disguised as a one way transaction just isn't quite enough.

Mo, in particular but could easily include other artisans, is not selling luxury priced soaps and isn't "rolling like a rapper or baller".  Complaining about a man selling high quality. hand made mid market priced soaps and living a modest life as a result is pretty damn mysanthropic, definitely poor taste.  Does it actually bother you that a man aspires to afford a mid market automobile, decent food and dignity in exchange for his work?  Are you happy with an economy and prevailing social zeitgeist that exploits productive work to the level of penury?

With all due respect to Sebum - and making NO judgment on his business model, this isn't a complaint about premium luxury soaps selling to an elite segment aware they paying a market based price for a unique exclusive "experience"; rather, you are complaining that a man making soap in a family residence because he needs but can not afford a dedicated facility is somehow taking advantage of people, REALLY?!

Do you also complain when your employer pays you a living wage versus outsourcing your job to a third world country (if not, are you a professional or union worker where the system has been established to protect your interest from real market based price competition)?  Do you kick beggars too to mask your fear of failure??  Do you aspire to become Patrick Bateman?

Mo, and all of us as inherently imperfect human beings, have issues where we could get better but to post that Mo (and other artisans competing in this middle market) is gouging people really invokes my ire.

We all need reflect on our lives, our society and our sense of decency before demanding that people undergo a race to the bottom so those able to can avoid paying a fair price for a quality product.  A WalMart extractive mentality destroys a society, can't you see the damage reading/listening/watching the news??  If not, at least have the forebearance to abstain from burdening the public with calls that punch down on a little guy fighting to make a living proclaiming he taking advantage.

If this a cry of frustration because unable to pay the fair price, reach out to me.  Have collected soaps and gear from generous members and vendors that can provide you free of charge without resorting to details of your plight.  But remain firm on my comments.

If Mo just put up announcements via email on Sunday, and every Sunday, even if the email is "nothing is released this week," it would be much easier than trying to follow him all over the place lol.  Problem is he often forgets to announce, it' would be much easier for him though if he just made it a point to send his subscribers one email a week.

Something like:
Fortis Planned release this week on November 5
Post Serum Shave release delayed.
Tonic "maybe next week."

And if nothing is released.
"No planned release dates this week"

Just email on the same day every week... however I don't think Mo is able to do that. So I ended up learning his patterns... LoL if you follow his instagram  you'll even see a post where Italian Barber asked him what's up with his planned shipment to them.

So don't feel too bad, even vendors deal with his delays and they buy much more than we do at once.
However yes, the product is good enough to me to justify the hassle but YMMV.

Meh......I struggle to understand the cost thing.
I mean, how many soaps do most of us have?
How many will be used in their entirety?

If cost was a 'real' issue, I imagine many of us would've stopped buying soaps after the first 4 or 5 tubs...period! ....regardless of the maker or price point. Lol

To be fair, cost is usually only an issue, when there's little value attached to the item being purchased.

Fortis is dirt cheap and it's amazing. Some of the Fortis soaps are even 5oz in size instead of the normal 4oz. I actually prefer Fortis over the more premium formulas.

I'm yet to get my hands on one of the actual Fortis releases, but based on the very generous sample tub that Mo sent to me, I also can barely tell the difference.

Top tier stuff indeed.

I feel I'm gettin yelled at, again Smile Thanks DanLaw for your defence!

I have posted this pic before. This is how much space I have to cure soaps, it's also all the space I have to store soaps and preshave jars. I have about as much area to store all my equipment. I have about as much space to store ingredients for soaps and the other products. I can't buy ingredients in large enough quantities to translate to meaningful profit, quickly enough to move.

I have sent out email notifications for the last 3 releases I made this year. I rely on an outside service to send those newsletter notices. If you're subscribed and you're not getting notified, then your email system is putting the messages in the junk folder. I have also made sure to post on DFS and the GD FB page 48 hours before a release, please subscribe to the top-level GD subforum to be notified of anything I post.

Yes, I tease a great deal on FB and Instagram, I don't do it here! Those outlets are my playgrounds. I'll continue to do it. I have a lot of fun designing labels and new scents. I love to share the things I create. I don't view making soaps, or desinging label or the scents as just chruning stuff. The majority of people who follow me on FB and IG love what I post, even my breakfast photos. Please unfollow if you don't want to see or have this type of interaction with me.

I reeally want your money, the soaps will come out when they're ready. I'd love to have the space to make soaps and other products everday. Thank you for your business.
