How do you like the scents of Ensens Agrumes and Etereo? What is your personal opinion and preference? Care to describe them (subjectively ofc)?

I picked up tubs of Otium (Nai formula) and Encens Agrumes (Kairos formula). I already had a sample of etereo from one of the developmental formulas I tested.

Otium is a complex blend of Bergamot, Maté Absolute, Artemesia (Wormwood), Mint, Osmanthus, Jasmine Sambac and Musk. When I first smelled the scent from the tub, I was not impressed. However, once lathered, the scent opens up to smell something like a herbal tea. I rather enjoyed it. As for the performance, it was even better than the initial release of Nai Aion and that was a superb soap. Mohamad made some slight changes to the formula based on the things he learned in the development of Kairos. Those changes worked well. Generally, I prefer tallow soaps to vegan soaps. The updated Nai formula is completely vegan and is a game changer for those who like the performance of tallow soaps, yet want to avoid ingredients of animal origin.

Encens Agrumes is a blend of Bergamot, Mandarin, Orange, Lime, Lemon, Grapefruit, Lavender, Floral Accord, Patchouli, Myrrh, Frankincense. Thus, it is a citrus scent balanced by Patchouli, Myrrh and Frankincnese. Thus, the name of the scent Encens (Incense) Argumes (Citrus). I am always concerned about scents containing lime, lemon and grapefruit as these scents can irritate my sensitive face. However, since the primary scents are bergamot, mandarin and orange, I had no irritation from the soap. The  Kairos formula improves on the excellent performance of the previous  Grooming Department formulas. It will compete easily with the best artisan soaps available.

The eterio scent is the only Kairos base that has not sold out. This is a very light floral scent based on lilac and honeysuckle. It is a wonderful scent for springtime. One of the development samples I tested has that scent. It is not a strong lilac scent like Pinaud Lilac Vegetal, so even if you do not consider yourself to be "chosen by The Veg", do not fear purchasing eterio.

There was one other Kairos scent included in the release. It was Amare. It was based on Fruits, Coconut, Spices, Florals, Vetiver, Musk Ambrette, Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Woodsy notes, and vanilla. It is a very complex scent containing elements from many of groups on the fragrance wheel. However, I am not certain of the overall scent as I did not purchase that one.

Mohammad is working hard on the next soap release. I  know he has been  working on improving the Mallard formula that contains duck fat, but I have not been involved in development testing, so I am not sure how close it is to being ready for release.. The previous formula is being modified based on what he learned in the development of Kairos, so I am eagerly anticipating the release of the new Mallard soaps.

Since the recent release of Nai and Kairos soaps sold quickly, I suspect Mo is also working on additional batches of those formulas. Those of you who missed out on the initial release will get your chance.

Posting Freak
I shaved with Kairos beta 4.7 today and I had an excellent shave - that stuff is just excellent.  I used the beta version because that's the only Kairos I have - I'm guessing my order is held up at customs right now - I keep imagining all these well groomed customs agents walking around with big smiles and smooth faces!! Big Grin  Hopefully I get it soon.

Its funny which soaps don't sell out n(eterio) - either Mo is making more of that one or people are reluctant to get that scent profile.  I found the same thing with GD Tao - it was available forever on IB.  Its one of my all time favourite GD soaps.  I bought 3 of them and gave one to a friend and one to my son.  I should have bought 4 so I could have kept a backup I like it that much but when it occurred to me, it was finally sold out.

.....

I also participated as a tester in the development of Kairos. Of the beta versions I tried, Kairos beta 4.7 was my favorite. However, Mo tells me that most of the other testers preferred later renditions. As usual, YMMV rules the day. The only issue I had with 4.7 was that it was so soft it could have been sold as a cream. I would have gladly purchased it as a cream as the performance was phenomenal. The release version is a superb soap, but I am glad I still have a little of the beta version left.

Actually It's Formula Nai V2, because It's a totally different base.

Whether it is a totally different base, or a modification of the original formula is a matter of degree. The new formula is based on the original formula. The original formula had a few ingredients of animal origin which were removed so the soap could be sold as strictly vegan. The original formula had 60 different ingredients. About 10% of the ingredients were changed. To me, that is a "slight change". If you want to call that a "totally different base", you are welcome to do so.

Thanks, You're very kind.  Tongue  Tongue  Tongue

BTW, the thread is opened by Mo himself.
Fot that review he called me in this group.
And 10% is just what you see, It changes in deep.
Relation between ingredients are changed.

Between Humans and Apes, in percentage there's less difference about genetics. Wink
BUT ... hey, I'm kind too: if It's so for you, call that a "slight difference".
