Chypre is a donkey milk formulation: donkey milks are available scented and unscented both of which are top notch even within the Grooming Dept line of soaps. I have a couple new unused spares of the scented version if anybody needs them. Will sell at cost plus shipping if unavailable elsewhere. Doing this as a favour and would be restocking when available. PM if interested

They get it Smile It's almost going to be a year since I launched Grooming Dept. I'm thankful for the immense support I have gotten at DFS from the start. I'm grateful to West Coast Shaving for their patience and awesome support too!

If you notice, Jared at the beginning of the video really gets what Grooming Dept is about. Multi-bases and ingredients upgrades all the time Smile

Since we're talking about upgrades. The next vegan release/re-issue will get an upgrade too, stay tuned!

Quick comments on Coat Tails Limited Edition
It is apparent from the ingredient mix that Coat Tails is not like the others in Mohammad's lineup. It is a very soft soap, and some caution needs to be exercised when loading. Scent-wise, this is a vetiver and saffron forward scent, with oud in the background and a touch of clove. One can expect a less divisive scent compared to Amber Oud. As with other soaps in Mohammad's offering, Coat Tails has a high level of water tolerance. However, the lather texture in Coat Tails seems to be slightly heavier, and feels more protective as a consequence - I suspect that these qualities are due to the addition of coconut oil, an ingredient that is absent in his other soaps. On the flip side, coconut oil makes the post-shave a little more "drying." Overall, I believe that Mohammad has paid very decent homage to the classic Italian soap formula, and I had a very enjoyable shave today.

I wish I could give a firm date. I'm hoping to make the release at the end of this month.

Used CoatTails for the first time this morning and it is very different from Mohammad’s other soaps. The lather from this soap is more like a paste once built. It takes a ton of water just like his other soaps but this soap is also softer so it’s easy to load too much as I did this morning after a 15 second load. The cushioning is exceptional just like his other soaps but thicker and pastier. My shave was outstanding but this new base does not have as good of an afterfeel as all of the other soaps in the GD line. All in all, I loved the scent, lather and shave. I used my Karve razor with one of the new baseplates that I am testing for Chris. Loved it!! Outstanding shave this morning and I love the fact that these soaps are limited and numbered!!

Thank you so much for posting your thoughts on the soap. I'm happy you like it.

This base takes a very different directions from other bases. In making this base I wanted to make a base that really emphasizes the controversial trait "Cushion" This base has a very obvious high level cushion feel Smile

The official release of the base in the Almond scent will have much better post shave feel.

looks like a symmetrical pottery dottie shave bowl but could be wrong.

Symmetrical Pottery. Think they are on Etsy and they have a website.
