You will quickly learn that nothing is firm when it comes to this Artisan. Well one thing is, the soap is good. Other than that, when you get your soap, when it's available, if it's available... All of that is iffy at best.


That has not been my experience at all either.

You know good and well this is not about anyone being patient. This is about a business person doing as they promise.

Anyone can go look at the thread that I started here, that you have participated in quite significantly, and see for themselves the disaster that this specific Artisan has been. Not shipping as promised is 100% unacceptable. Nobody said anything about being a multinational corporation.

At the very minimum, a business person needs to comply with their promises. End of story. And this one, has not. And you know very well of what I speak so don't try to minimize unprofessional behavior by saying that we the people need to be more patient. That's plain wrong.

I still have not gotten two of the Soaps I have ordered, due to him missing his shipping dates repeatedly, until finally there was no way for me to get it to where I am. I suspect it will get here someday, however, had he been on time or even close, it would not have been a problem.

I simply will not accept anyone trying to place blame on the customer. That is manipulative at best and downright acting as a shill at worst.

I very much like the Soaps. They are right up there with the best I have tried. From all of the reports I have read, there are others equally as good. Since I haven't been able to get anything in here yet, I haven't had a chance to experience it personally.

It's rather irrelevant how many soaps one owns. Writing that you have 15 or five or only one doesn't really matter. What matters is how they perform. And it is a given that these soaps perform well.

I know that he apparently is up to the same old BS of not being able to stick to release dates. Very much par for the course with him.

This is very much a situation where it is a buyer beware kind of thing. He simply cannot be trusted to keep his word. And in fact, he doesn't even feel responsible to do so. He says all the right words until you get him on the phone and then he says that it's not his fault that he can't ever seem to keep to the dates he sets.

I do not wish him ill. I hope he becomes a smashing success. He certainly has very good soap. But I will not allow anyone to put blame on customers and I will respond immediately if anyone does that.

One of the great things about This forum is that we can all get together and let our voices be heard. We can protect each other from charlatans and share our experiences.

There are Great many people who are dissatisfied with the failure to perform as promised of this Merchant. This affected a big number of people here. All one has to do is search and it will easily be discovered. If anybody would like a link, please feel free to message me privately.

Let's keep it real here, folks. This Artisan makes good soap. I used to shout that from the Treetops. What he isn't, is a business person. He has no clue how to run a business. He has no clue how to be a person of his word and fulfill as promised. You will see that in his failure to release on schedule. And then you will see it in his inability to ship on time.

Feel compelled to chime in here.

IF it matters, have been on the temporal back end of virtually all deliveries from Grooming Dept whether it be due to random fulfillment, geographical location&c, seems consistently one of last to receive shipments - just so that is put aside as a rebuttal suggesting somehow favoured as a customer.

There is truth to Mo missing selfimposed deadlines. - that is irrebuttable. Moreover there has been less than stellar remediation hitherto, again irrebuttable. Further, there has been a decided willingness to openly communicate regarding internal operations extending far beyond the typical latest formulation selfserving drivel - again irrebuttable.

Taken out of context, one could conclude Mo either incompetent at best or worst, a charletan intent on inflicting pain to the very customers supporting his income.

However, there is a concept termed mitigation, a path to redemption perhaps more critical to determining one’s character and ability. To that end, let’s examine further what has transpired. Publicly, there has been a website established with specific release dates added short and long term, discount vouchers sent for those experiencing delays in delivery, public presence responding to questions - perhaps too forthright in details at times including acknowledged missteps. Yet of greater significance to my mind, there has been no sharing of blame for items beyond his control. I shall state what he won’t and likely invoke his ire in return  - some of these delays are caused by suppliers. Mo won’t state it but I just did. Finally, a major factor in accepting mitigation as remediation is the trendline of whether matters are getting better or worse. By scaling back variety and new releases, there is certainly improvement: by alerting of release delays to delay dates aforefront versus shipping delays there is also improvement.

Frankly not confident that any advocacy on my part matters to others or Mo BUT having remained silent while a decent man gets publicly eviscerated has not sat well with me on two occassions in my professional past. While every day is a good day to deliver justice, it is never a good day for a hanging.  I am not willing nor shall I remain silent on this issue on behalf of Mo nor anybody else being maligned or maltreated.

Your protestations not withstanding, righteous indignation is appropriate but malevolent stalking is less than virtuous. It is clearly understandable that you choose not to support this vendor further but as you have not been harmed, there is no justification in continually maligning him with the intent of harming his livelihood. Is there an instance where you did not receive your product or money refunded be it affirmatively or passively? Surely there are very few in the world more churlish than I (praise be my poor parents that tried hard to rear a proper gentleman) but at least attempt to constrain stalking to matters where there has been actual harm inflicted financially. To do otherwise denigrates valid outrage and causes actual victims of financial misfeasance to have their voice diluted amidst all the noise.

If you are referring to me, I would ask you to reread what I wrote. What I have written is fair and honest.

I agree that today is not the day for a hanging. But today is the day for honesty and full disclosure. Two things that I believe have not always been well delivered on the part of this Artisan. I have personal evidence to back this up should anybody wish to have it.

If you would like me to go in much greater detail, I would be happy to. Though I have done that elsewhere, and I believe the record stands for itself. I will mention one... There has not been a single, solitary order that I have placed that I have ever received on time. And that is five+ orders. And by that, I mean often several weeks late.

I do not believe that this Artisan has been maligned in anyway. What he has received, he has brought upon himself. Again, what I'm saying is 100% verifiable. I would be happy to give you the emails and even recorded phone calls to verify what I'm saying should anybody doubt my words.

I have said here and elsewhere that my hope is That he changes his ways and becomes extremely successful. So far, I see no evidence of that.

And no, one cannot blame suppliers. This is called being responsible. You can't announce shipment dates if you haven't yet made the product. Think it through. One can hope, even speculate. But announcing a shipment date prior to product being complete or at least nearly complete is irresponsible.

Speak up all you want. I will too. There is no intention on my part to malign anyone. There is an intention on my part to hold people responsible and alert this community when significantly negative behavior is impacting a great many people.

I'm admittedly a fan, finding the post-shave feel superb, and the performance up there with the very best out there. I'm not crazy about some of the scents, but I could say the same of most, if not all, artisan soaps I have.

Mohammad has always been prompt with his shipping and his communication over the past year, except for the delay in shipping on the last order.

He has apologized for the delay and for trying to release too many soaps and formulations at once. He's apologized here and in an email and has offered a discount on the next order for those who ordered and experienced that delay.

Things happen. In my experience, that delay happened only once out of many orders.

I ordered something from Amazon almost a month ago that was supposed to be delivered in two days. I'm still waiting. Since they deliver 95% of their orders to me on time, and 99% within a day of their promised date. I'm willing to give them a pass because, well, things happen, and there are some things that are simply easier to get from them. And that's a multi-billion dollar company with half a million employees.

If Amazon continued to drop the ball severely, I-and I imagine many other customers-would walk.

Bottom line is this: If this upsets some so much that they doubt the business practices or integrity of a vendor, there's an easy fix, as vtmax has suggested-vote with your feet, and purchase soap from another vendor.

As for me, one delay out of dozens of orders does not dissuade me in the least from doing business in the future with Mohammad and Grooming Dept.

I'm so upset. I went to WalMart the other day to buy some whole chickens to cook on the smoker and you know what, they were all out of them. I consider this a personal attack against me because they're supposed to have whatever I want, right when I want it.

You know they have really good chickens there.

Sure, I could have bought some other food from there, or maybe some whole chickens from another store down the street that were just as good.

I do have some other chickens at home that I could cook as well, but it's the principal of the thing so I feel I have to complain about it here.

This isn't the first time this has happened either.

I'm tempted to boycott WalMart but they really do have good chickens so I'll just complain and whine about it here so that I feel better.

Very true. And had that been my experience instead of every single one of my orders not reaching me on time, I would be inclined to agree. Thing is, this is not only my experience but a great many others.

For the most part, I am voting with my feet.

However, as I have said many times, I very much like the soap. So my real hope is that Mohammad gets his act together and begins doing what he says he'll do and keeping to his word.

If this has worked perfectly for you, count yourself lucky. You are in the few, not the many.

To gloss over enormous failures to perform as this Artisan has done, repeatedly, is a grave mistake.

Fair is fair and I believe it's important to say both sides. There seem to be a few, and it seems to me that these are more shills than anything else as all they ever say are positive things even in the face of enormous difficulties and problems that can't seem to be balanced in what they say.

So for anybody new, let me say the truth is I see it. This is very good soap. Absolutely ranking as top-tier. The Artisan on the other hand is incompetent in business. He has not stuck to his word and frequently not done as promised.

That is a fair assessment of both sides. There are some people who got lucky and have gotten all or the majority of their orders as promised, on time. If you're one of those lucky few, congratulations. For the rest of us, we have struggled with a huge number of problems from this artisan. Constant dates being moved back (and we see that happening yet again, now) 2 flat out not fulfilling as promised. Quite frankly, he's very lucky he still has a merchant account that will process these orders.

This is very much a buyer beware kind of situation. I do believe you will eventually get your order. The question is, when. And are you ok waiting perhaps a significantly longer period of time then was promised?

Again, fantastic soap. Horrific business practices. Beware as well of all the shills here that will only say positive things when they absolutely know better. But I will say, whatever you hear positive about the soap is pretty much warranted. It is fantastic.

I'm certain your intent is to use a metaphor to explain why it's okay not to do as promised. There are some huge differences here though that I suspect most people are capable of figuring out.

In the first place, Walmart I did not promise that they would have chicken on a specific day. They did not promise that they would ship to you by Priority Mail X days after you purchased.

In fact, we could say that Walmart is 100% compliant with the law. Mohammad however, is not.

Let's drop the shill act and be realistic.

I will counter every shill post here with one of realism.

Just as Walmart's chicken is fantastic, so too is Mohammed's soap. Just be careful whose word you take about what you're going to get, when. LOL
