Some Feedback Time. (My opinion only, so hold your horses)

1. I won't go into the quality of soaps - everyone here is by now aware of it. In short - one of the best I tried in 2017

2. Those labels - I know they having nothing to do with the actual shave, but still. Either go simple (Mike's, Mystic Water for example) or get something really good. GD's labels do a disservice to the quality of the soap. Some of the labels look like ones I would create during a lunch break.

3. Underlying smell in some soaps - I get the scent in Lavender, Aether, Mallard (probably, but not sure) and one other. I don't know what it is, and it is mostly subdued by the otherwise nicely crafted scents, this underlying (of soap base?) isn't pleasant.

4. Containers, now I am stretching. I like flat bottom containers (like Barrister's Reserve) where the sidewall is also flat (unlike say older L&L). I have reached the bottom of soaps and having a raised bottom isn't something I enjoy.

Well, that's about it.

And maybe samples? - I know some (including Mohammad) feels that a small sample (0.5oz) can't represent the quality of the soap properly, but at least it can help us make decisions about scents. I, for one, is tired of all these BST transactions ( I have spent ~400 on USPS last year alone!! according to Mint). So this year, I plan to be very cautious about what I buy.

Actually, I like the Parkway jars much more than the Col-tainer. The Col-tainer jars feel brittle and I've had 3 or 4 lids crack on me. The Parkway jars are sturdier and I have not had any of those jars arrive cracked or damaged.

Man, I simply could not disagree more. I find GD’s graphic design and artwork to be my favorite of any of the soaps I use.

Thank you @"iamsms" Im happy you like my soaps. I'm also grateful for your support!

I design all the labels. I don't think that will change anytime soon. I get to have another creative outlet in designing the labels. Some are better than others Smile But I'm aggressively shopping for higher quality waterproof labels.

Some older soaps from the soy wax days and the first few scents had various base scents. The smell from the base doesn't exists anymore.

The parkway jars are still the best IMHO. The colt jars are too flat. I'm working on a side label for the soaps for the parkway jars.

The samples issue is a hard one from so many angles. As you know I have created many scents in a short period of time and they're all over the place deciding on what scent to pack will be too complicated. The soap is poured directly into the jars, which I'll have to pour directly into sample containers, unless I want to pack containers later on, but I don't have the time or space to do that. Pricing the samples is problematic too. I don't like small samples at all. But I found 2oz tin jars are a good size which I can pour the soap directly into. Now pricing 2oz is trickier than pricing a jar. But I'm thinking of making shaving soap sticks. They'd be about 2oz which I think would work as way to create sample-like offering.

Mohammad can you talk about the scent of Naranje de Sangre? Is the scent influenced by any specific colognes? Is it predominantly citrus forward?

Hi Matt, thanks for asking.

Naranje de Sangre borrows a bit from Conca d'Oro but with touches of leather, animalic, woody notes. Overall, it's a warm dry scent with slight sweetness (sweeter than Conca). Blood orange dominates the scent, everything else is there to create a backdrop and support it, down to the base notes.

Sounds like it’s right down my alley. When will Naranje be released? I don’t see it listed on your release schedule on the website.
