So GroomingDept, if you don't mind me asking: what are some of your favourite fragrances and/or where do you like to draw inspiration from? Your approach/notes to fragrance definitely looks unique compared to others (I say looks because I haven't tried any yet so I can only see them on paper).

Thanks for asking, I hope you get to try my soaps.
I'm really a beginner when it comes to scents & fragrances. I read lots of books, to understand the chemistry behind fragrances, aroma compounds and essential oils. I experiment a great deal too.
Here are some of fragrances that I enjoy

Finally the USPS delivered my After the Fire soap. And now I know what my favorite scent smells like . All previous Mohammad’s creations are superb and absolutely deliciously scented, and I like me them all. But this one to my nose is just PERFECT... so much looking forward to shaving with it tonight!!!

Thank you ANG69 for your phenomenal support. I'm so happy you like this scent. Here is what Darrell Cherry posted on The ShaveMarketGroup about After The Fire.

Ok, so I finally decided to pull the trigger on a Grooming Dept. soap and boy am I glad I did! I got After the Fire (tallow & duck fat) and after 4 uses, I can say that this formula is firmly in my top tier of favorite soaps. It's easily as good as WK donkey milk or L&L, but where it's better is that it takes less work and time to get the lather where it needs to be. The scent is fantastic as well and is pretty stout to my nose (about 7 out of 10). If you like smoky type scents, this is a must have. It's really well done and if this is any indication of Mohammad's scent crafting abilities, I'm definitely interested in purchasing more flavors in the future. The only drawback for me with this particular scent is that it irritates my face. Nothing crazy fiery, but enough to make it uncomfortable during the shave unfortunately. I'm not going to go as far as saying that Grooming Dept. is going to replace all of my other soaps because the performance to me is on par with (if not a little better than some) and I like the variety. Excellent stuff overall and I would recommend trying it 100%.

If anyone is interested in trying out the tallow+duck base, wyze0ne is doing a pass-around of After The Fire
