Hi Jason5157 Thank you for you purchases and support. I'm glad you are enjoying my soaps.

My apologies, I'm releasing leather focused scents in November and December, but I don't think either of them will resemble TF Tuscan Leather.

Perhaps some tobacco leaf scents to go with the leather, something like a Tobacco Toscano.

What an interesting ingredient! Especially for those who like coffee. Very rich, really smooth, fruity, smokey, I get light florals. A great deal like high end dark roasts!

Been meaning to add more info here but life had other plans.

I tried an interesting experiement.

First I shaved with each of the 3 vegan soaps I bought. Then I shaved 3 days in a row with Aether to see if I could tell a difference between the bases. After which, I shaved using each of the 3 vegan soaps again.

While speaking of differences here is a bit of splitting hairs, I do believe I can tell a difference. Not so much in the feeling during the shave... both bases are slick and protective. It's the after the shave feeling that is different.

My conclusion is... that the vegan base feels even better to me. I think it is a touch slicker and the after the shave feeling is a touch better. I know others will think differently. That's the benefit of an artisan like Mohammad.

My conclusion surprises me. I thought for sure I would like the tallow/duck fat base better. I really like them both but the vegan base soaps are just a notch above, for me. YMMV

Another interesting thing happened along the way. I began loading for more time. I've found about 12 - 15 seconds works very well for me. And that produces lather with very nice scent strength as well.

Speaking of scents, I've come up with a way of describing Grooming Dept's scents. Sophisticated, intelligent and unique. They aren't super strong, "in your face" but they are very much there and very nice. They have grown on me a lot.

Since I've been using them, my face feels terrific all day long. I've never felt anything like this. I can still feel it the next morning when I get up.

And since I got these, they are all I've been using. They put my other soaps to shame. :-)

TheKey Thank you so much for the kind words. I've always been a tallow fan, but while I was learning about oils and fats I realized I wanted to make a vegan soap that can go toe-to-toe with tallow soaps. But I think the tallow+duck is really interesting too, and things will get even more interesting when one tries the full-on duck-fat, and hopefully for Christmas the lamb tallow base Smile

vtmax , I definitely consider the vegan base the flagship. And this is a great time to mention that on 10/9 it will receive another upgrade, stay tuned Smile

Man oh man....a lamb based tallow formula????!!!!! I just can’t get enough of this!! I will be using Voyage tomorrow after using Magnolia yesterday. Patchouli and Neroli will be delivered tomorrow and a fellow shaver sold me his Aether and I will get it next week. Can’t wait to place my order Monday for everything new that you release. Killing my wallet but absolutely worth it!!

Mohammad, Im not sure what the coffee oil is. Is it cold pressed from the beans or hot pressed oil or steam extracted from the beans? Im guessing this is different than chewing on a bean or guzzling down a doppio. Anything you can share?

Coffee oil is considered to be the essence of coffee beans, it’s not present in the green bean, but is produced during the process of roasting. The substance which is main constituent of the oil is “Caffeol”, it gives coffee it’s complex aroma and flavor. The Caffeol oil is extracted in different ways but the most intense aroma comes CO2 Extracted oils, and it’s spectacular in Parfum or EDT, but Cold Pressed is fantastic for adding to soaps, splashes and lotions. The oil is also extracted using solvents. The solvent process can even extract Caffeol from used coffee grounds.
