I can’t wait to read other shaver’s reviews of this soap base.
First off, thanks to you and the other reviewers for keeping us in the loop.  I have really appreciated that.

Second, could you please say a bit more about how you lather?  I get that Kairos is tolerant of different approaches, but do you typically wet load (à la "Marco's Method"), dry load, or what?  --  Thanks in advance.
The way I have been loading Kairos is to soak my badger brush then squeeze or shake the majority of the water out.  Then load for 10-15 seconds.   I then face lather by painting it on and then swirling with hydration by dipping the tips in water a few times.
I haven't tried the Marco method with Kairos and I don’t think it would work well.  It is hard to explain but Kairos turns into a dense cream on the face as you lather and add small additions of water.  It isn’t like Martin de Candre that explodes into a thick fluffy sudsy lather.  Kairos, as water is added and swirled in a brush, grows into a dense and luxurious cream.   You gotta try it.  I think GD is in final production now and perhaps a week or two from dropping.
Thanks very much.  I also prefer to lather some soaps differently than others, and I will try your method first with Kairos.  I hope to pick some up when it drops.

Mohammad was kind enough to send me a sample of his ‘Kairos 4.13’ test Soap, which I had a chance to use for the first time this morning. The sample he sent is unscented, and I lathered it up using a Simpson Synthetic Fibre Chubby 2. I used a slightly damp Brush and loaded for approximately 30 seconds, and then I moved to the bowl since this Soap is new to me. I slowly added water until the lather just exploded, nice and shiny, forming beautiful peaks. The lather had the consistency of sour cream, and was very slick. The lather also had plenty of cushion which I enjoy. I didn’t use any pre-shave or post shave as I wanted to see what this Soap could do. I had one day of growth, and did a three pass shave with my Blackland ‘Goldbird’. The result was an irritation free BBS Shave, and my skin feels fantastic. I plan on using this Soap the next week or so to really get a feel for it, but after just one use I’m very impressed. I can’t wait to see Mo’s finished product. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to test out your new base GroomingDept!

A lot of talk about the new base. I want to test her. I have more than 150 soap manufacturers in the collection. There is something to compare. I was not impressed with the new WK and DG bases. I expected more  .Mo! I am ready to buy probes and pay for shipping. I want to know whether this formula is so good or more conversations ...

In the past month, I have tried Zingari Sego, WK Siero and DG Milksteak and they were good.

However, in the same month, I have also tried Kairos 3.3, 3.7, 3.9 and 3.14. The new GD Kairos base is so dense, slick and moisturizing you will astonished. It is not just talk and hype. It really is excellent and luxurious to shave with. I can’t wait to read people’s reactions to it.

The fact is that I liked this manufacturer. I bought his soap. I have 11 different. But more than half a year ago, I stopped doing this and closed this manufacturer for myself. Three early soaps died. Mo gave me a discount. I asked to send me two of the last formulas, I am ready to pay, I do not need free. But I didn’t receive an answer. And it is not possible to take advantage of the discount on the site. Nothing on sale for a very long time. Buy GD on WCS, I do not see the point. I think these soaps are not much different from those that I already have.

Curious to know how testers were chosen...seems like everyone and their cousin received samples based on the volume of posts...

Yes, I'm jealous.

I did a face off between Kairos 4.13 and Nai Aion. I lathered both soaps using similar SilverSynth synthetic brushes in different bowls. I applied Kairos to the right side of my face and Aion to the left side. To make sure the comparison was strictly between the soaps, I used no pre-shave or post-shave products. I did shower before shaving as is my normal practice.

Both soaps were  easy to load and easy to lather, about 10 seconds of swirling was sufficient. It took me about 35-40 seconds to develop great lathers in a bowl using vigorous agitation.  (10/10 on loading, 10/10 on lathering)

Both soaps were very slick, both primary and residual. I rated the soaps as equal. (10/10)

I did think that an earlier version of Kairos (4.7) had more residual slickness. I did not feel I could do my final clean-up pass without applying additional lather as I did with 4.7. Since I have never attempted that with any soap other than Kairos 4.7, I do not consider that to be negative.

The new version of Kairos was firm in texture. Although Kairos 4.7 was a marvelous soap, it was quite soft, almost like a cream. It only took about 5 seconds of loading to get enough soap for a five pass shave. Thus, a lot of folks would have used too much soap and complained about the cost per shave.

Both soaps has sufficient cushion so that I was able to get a four-pass shave with zero irritation. (10/10 on cushion/protection)

Finally, both soaps had a equally great post-shave feel that began soon after the shave an persisted for many hours, even without a post-shave splash or balm.  (10/10 on post shave)

Grooming Department Nai Aion is one of the very best soaps in my den. Ruds Shaves gave it a rating of 100 and I feel that rating is justified. The latest version of Kairos is equally good in my opinion.

According to Mohammad, Nai will be produced as a vegan soap; the milk whey contained in the current version will be removed from future releases. Nai will only be released occasionally as production is expensive and time-consuming.

Kairos is a tallow based soap that is every bit as good as Nai. Although not yet released, Mohammad has listed three upcoming Kairos scents: etereo, Amare, and Encens Agrumes. Now I have to decide which scent or scents I want to purchase to add to my already overflowing soap collection. If you prefer lighter scents, etereo will be a great choice.

I have a question, maybe for Mo, if he will answer. Since there are still a lot of tests versions out there I'm wondering when production will actually begin. They're obviously pictures of the new formulas up on the site with coming soon. I'm guessing that it will take some time for the soap to actually be made and cure before it can be shipped. I'm curious how far we are away from production beginning. Either that or has production of an earlier version already began?

He is in the middle of making the production soaps now. Give it another 3 weeks.
