Game Changer Knot

Is it strictly synthetic?

I think I read someone somewhere saying it was mixed synthetic and badger.

Doesn't look like it to me. Who sells the knots?

I looked on Etsy and the description for the knot was kind of confusing. Maybe I was just looking at the wrong listing?

Do they hang onto water up by the handle like other synthetics and then dribble if you hang the brush between passes?

All synthetic. See my previous comment for links to AMACK for the knot and Maggards for a brush that uses what looks like the same knot.

I might be using my synthetic brushes differently from others. I shake out excess water, dip just tips in water, load soap, lather, dip just the tips in water, lather some more, repeat until lather is where I like it. I haven't noticed if there's excess water being held up in the knot by the handle.

I don't have that problem either. I submerge my synthetics in water then squeeze out the water and shake it a few times so that it is just damp. I bloom my soaps and dump the water which leaves the soap wet enough to make for easier loading. I prefer the soap to be wet rather than the brush as I can always add more water as I'm loading. This process has been working extremely well for me so I stick with it.

I know what bakerbarber is referring to because I experienced the same thing when I first switched to synthetics. That was the only learning curve really I had to get around with synthetics and now I love them.

But after looking at Amack they don't ship to the U.K. & I didn't like the look of maggards brushes.
I have heard the Razorock plissoft is a good synthetic with decent backbone & also I like sound off the the Tuxedo black & white Synthetic from Apshave co. Had anyone got any views on these brushes.

I do not have a satin tip, but once had a L'Occitane Plisson.

I prefer my Razorock Plissofts (I have the regular one and the barber handle) to the L'Occitane Plisson, which I found floppy and would flatten out with painting strokes. The Razorocks definitely have more backbone and are a really great value. I highly recommend one. I've been using my barber handle one all month, and thinking about getting The Hulk.

My game changers have more backbone than the Plisson with very soft tips. It's a densely packed knot.

I've heard great things about the tuxedo knot - good backbone, super soft tips.

Here's a picture of the Tuxedo brush from AP Shave Co. It's super soft, much better than my Maggards Synthetic brushes IMO and it looks great!

Check out Local Gent Shaving Co. They have a variety of brushes available with the Game Changer knot. I'm not sure if they ship to the UK or not, but its worth a look.

Looks very similar to the black wolf knot which is my softest knot of all my synthetics

That is a nice looking brush llee89x what's the backbone like. I looked at local gent shaving & they do ship to U.K. Which is great. All I have to do is decide which one.
