12-50 dollars depending on where you order and brush selection..I'm impressed.  I purchased three different varieties of these  and while they shed like a sheep dog the during the first week after that.....  WOWEEE great brushes especially at the price point.

I don't know, they can be a bit inconsistent . I bought a 24mm knot Silvertip which was a good brush with limited shedding episodes so i sprung for the 28mm "Chubby" type and It's did nothing but shed ever since I got it. YMMV of course!

I agree that they are spotty but for the price I think they are completely worth the "risk" if you will.  Overall, these have preformed well for me; but, like in all this DE shaving YMMV for sure!!

Yeah , it is a shame because the brush I have the shedding problems with is the ideal brush for me. I have a Chubby 2 in best but sometimes I feel it's a wee bit too dense, the FS "Chubby" has a great knot with the ideal density and it is really soft. I usually lose between 4 and 8 hairs per shave. However I didn't have that problem with the 24mm silvertip so what can you do. Plus there was virtually no recourse as I bought it through ebay direct from China and the correspondence wasn't forthcoming when I had issues with the product from the supplier. I prefer not to take the chance and I find Semogue boar and badger are outstanding brushes for a reasonable price that are much more consistent , a bit more expensive but my SOC badger hasn't lost a single hair and it's nearly 2 years old now. I'm sure if you ask around you'll find people who have had problems with Semogue in the past as well or maybe you won't, my experiences with them have been excellent.

There is some of my badger brushes from right to left.[Image: 5c7qRg1.jpg]
Muhle silvertip. High quality product, no loose hair. Way too soft, almost useless to shaving. Cost 80€ waste of money.
Frank Shaving 20mm pure badger. Totally useless, losing few hair always, totally useless. Cost 19€ waste of money.
Semogue Soc 2 band, high quality product, tight but soft knot, I like it very lot, time to time it losing one hair. Cost about 70€ in europe. I like it lot.
Frank Shaving silvertip 26mm. High quality brush, Losing one hair time to time same than Semogue. Cost about 70€ with this handle from china. Like it very lot.

If I have to choose one of them I pick Frank Shaving silvertip 26. It is tight enough to face lather and magnificent to bowl lather. Soc is nice too but the FS is winner if I have to choose. Maybe I'm lucky, I have very good FS, seems that there is variation in the quality of FS. If i have to buy new one, I probably pick Semogue or some quality guarantee product. No I´m lucky with my FS 26 Silvertip.

I just finished my first shave with a Frank Shaving best badger, you all are right I must have lost 20 hairs on this shave. I hope it gets better in the next few shaves...

I hope it does, I used my Franks the other day for the first time in a while and I had the usual 3 - 4 bristles lost during the shave and a couple the next day when dried.

I have about 4 Franks Brushes and have given others as gifts, most have shed badly the first week or so, after that, they are GOLDEN.  Do I wish they shed less during that initial week, absolutely!  For the price can I complain? No.  These are great performing brushes, they lather well, they are soft, and they are durable and for the price point, I'm willing to overlook the shedding that is fierce early on.  Is it a Simpsons, NO but I have both and enjoy using both.

FS brushes are definitely hit or miss. However; when they're good, they're really good. I've bought 5 so far - two were absolutely incredible, both two band badgers. And tremendous value, I picked up a 22mm for $8US and another 28mm two band with a heavy butterscotch handle - that actually came in a leather(ish) box for $15US --> how can you possibly beat that value. Both of the good ones shed a little at the beginning and over the next two years settled down to behave like any other knot.

The other three brushes (one finest, one synthetic, and a silver tip fan) were all not very good and have been PIF'd.

I don't think I've spent $100 on all 5 combined. You can't beat the value. I find his best brushes are of the two band variety.

Good luck to OP!
