Both of these scents come out on Saturday, April 7. Fourth & Pine is a spring/summer seasonal and will run until September 1. Pure Lavender is a one-run limited edition.

Fourth & Pine

Scent notes in the aftershave, toner, salve, and shaving soap:
  • Neroli
  • Lemon
  • Bergamot
  • Orange
  • Petitgrain
  • Lavender
  • Grapefruit
  • Yuzu

Scent notes in the eau de cologne:
  • Neroli
  • Lemon
  • Grapefruit
  • Yuzu
  • Orange
  • Petitgrain
  • Lavender
  • Jasmine
  • Geranium
  • Vetiver
  • Tonka bean

The story:

Johann Farina is widely regarded as one of the patriarchs of the fragrance world. His classic combination, the original eau de cologne, is still as relevant today as it was over three centuries ago. Years after it was created, it was carried at Clamorgan's, a premier bathhouse and gentlemen's grooming salon that attended to local luminaries like Ulysses S. Grant.

The Clamorgan brothers were the mixed-race sons of Henry Clamorgan, one of the titans in St. Louis' early history who fell in a woman who he was not legally allowed to marry. Despite their second-rate status, they provided the highest level of luxury and carried the finest grooming products in their renowned store, including Farina's Eau de Cologne. This scent is not intended to replicate that master's work, but to provide a new take on it. One that pays homage to the Clamorgan's ability to thrive despite the high hurdles put in front of their success.

Pure Lavender

Available in aftershave, toner, salve and shaving soap, this is a blend of four different lavenders, including one that is grown, harvested and extracted locally in Saint Louis.

Will pure lavender be essential oil only?

I might have to pick up some fourth & pine as the scent profile sounds quite nice!

Agreed.  I'm looking at the Eau de Cologne vs. the aftershave and notice the scent notes are not quite identical.  Why is that, hawns?  Is there a difference in longevity or sillage between the two?  Do they smell identical?

They do not smell identical, but that is for both longevity's and sillage's sake. I am going to try to finish up a blog about it and get it posted tonight or tomorrow when I get back to St. Louis

You’re a busy bee, Shawn!

I’ve been waiting for spring to arrive in Seattle before breaking out the Fourth & Pine, but I don’t want to wait until July. I’m going to tee it up for tomorrow, even though the lows today and tomorrow are in the ‘30s. The scent really has a spring vibe, like Colonia Balsamica, which I used yesterday when we hit the high ‘50s. In any event, all CL scents work for me, anytime.
