I wondered how many photons are photographed? Is that even a meaningful question? To what extent is the laser beam altered by being observed at such high temporal resolution? And last, but perhaps not least, what do the "random transformations" do? Alas, even if answers to all those questions are known, they are probably not easy to explain.
