Scentsless Shaver
Oakland, ME
I am hoping for a knot tomorrow so I can get it into the 86S in time for a Christmas shave!

The statute of limitations for gift guides is a great idea! I am prone to act as you did, and my wife has pulled something out of a comment I made months prior! The best was truly surprising me with tickets to see on of the many farewell tours KISS put on. I remember her excitement as I unwrapped the envelope and just hope my face portrayed excitement and enthusiasm rather than WTF!

It seems that during the wait at our cellular provider for our phones to get activated with the latest in spyware and surveillance software, the salesman was showing off some speakers and it was a KISS song that was playing. I commented that KISS would be a fantastic live show. This was interpreted as an unfulfilled lifelong ambition of mine!

Hey Eric, the "Paketa" is uncommon for a Soviet razor in that it has the badge in the scale and etching on the blade. It was in the heart of the "Space Race" and tons of USSR items were produced that trumpeted their lead in it. This being made in 1964 the year they were the first to launch three Cosmonauts together into orbit in the Voskhod 1 rocket or "Paketa"
That was the first spaceflight with more than one cosmonaut. Originally it was only going to be two. But the politicians wanted three. So they made them ditch their spacesuits to save weight and crammed three guys into a capsule originally designed for two. In the Voskhod 2 they went back up with just two. With suits on so they could make another first. The first spacewalk.

Great story Eric. My brother was a big Kiss fan. He dressed up as Ace for halloween two years in a row.

I have read a lot about the space race, but only from what various astronauts wrote. What you put here now has me interested in finding a good book about the race that covers both sides better! Thanks for the info!

Christmas Eve Shave
[Image: LClryu8.jpg]
Good day today. Ran a few errands with the ‘Ol lady. Made up a pot of chili. Now just chilling out for a bit before I turn in.
Gathered together some of my favorite items to use with my Model 86’s first run.
C-Mon Hand Forged razor
Fluffy Industries Model 86 Oumo Boar
PAA Astra Planeta Soap
Alt Innsbruck AS

My original thoughts of the Oumo boar knots were of course, spot on. With just a 30 minute soak after one test lather. This brush is in a different league than the other knot purchased from elsewhere. It’s a winner. So much so the brass editions knot was removed with extreme prejudice. And the other Oumo boar knot is curing as this is being written. If any of you like “scritchy” boar knots let me know and the un-used matching knot, is yours.
I’m off to bed. Lest my coal not be delivered.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
