So...I received the Ibis shavette from Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements today, and even though I was really quite nervous, I figured there was no better time than immediately to give it a try. So I prepared some Stirling Vanilla Sandalwood soap, dropped half of a Derby blade in the shavette, lathered up my scalp and went to town...

Honestly, this was one of the most comfortable shaves I have every experienced. I managed 2 fulls passes on the head, then I switched to my Super Speed to do a few touchups, and get really clean. The end result is a very close shave, 2 teeny-tiny little nicks on the back of my head out of sight, and one VERY excited new shavette owner!

I am seriously floored with how well the process went. The angle came fairly intuitively for me. I think it helped that I have been shaving by feel for so many months. Being a head-only shaver has made it a requirement to shave by feel, and I think that was of tremendous benefit.

Anyhow...I am so excited about this! I can't wait until tomorrow so I can shave again. This could become addicting!

Awesome BadDad, I'm happy the shavette is working out for you! Smile My first try with a shavette was with the Crown King model.

I've only owned the thing for 45 minutes, and I think I'm in love!

That's impressive. The first time I used a shavette on my head it was a freaking blood bath. Never again. Using a straight has been way better and I only do it on the weekends now due to time constraints as it takes me a while. Pretty impressed you got a great shave with a shavette on the chrome dome the first time. Congrats!!!

Had my secnd shave with it this morning. 3 full passes, clean as a whistle, no nicks or cuts. Again, I switched to the Super peed fof the minimal touchuos required, but today I even managed my ATG pass with the shavette.

Now I want a kamisora type...maybe a Feather AC first...

Cool. BTW, the Stirling sandalwood and vanilla is a nice soap.
