Well I can say if you don't have one of these GET ONE. It was only one shave, but it was close to BBS with just a WTG and XTG pass. I'll use it for the next two weeks to see how I feel about it, but it was awesome. Sorry bgremill I'm keeping this one. It's funny how all of my vintage Gillettes shave better for me, or just as good as my modern razors. I still love my ATT S1 though lol.

I'm glad the NEW worked out so well for you. I have to say I'm not surprised. I have a NEW LC and an English Flat Bottom NEW (not Raised Flat bottom). The NEW was one of the few razors I've ever tried that were very intuitive and great from the very first shave. I did a side by side today with the Gillette NEW LC and the English Flat Bottom. Flip a coin. They're both great razors and I couldn't tell any appreciable difference. Now, I need to get a NEW SC.

I want an aristocrat, but as I have posted in other threads I have spent a lot in the last couple of months, and if I buy anything right now my wife will fing KILL me lol.

Speaking of an Aristocrat, I have a '46-'47 that is my second favorite vintage Gillette. I'd like to acquire one or two of the English 'Crats, but they're a bit too spendy for me right now.

EFDan, haha. I honestly expected this to turn out the way it did. Glad it worked so well for you. I sure love mine. Like I said, my LC is ROUGH looking; but, one of my best shavers. What blade did you use? Just curious.

Polsilver which is one of my favorites. My second week will be with a Gillette silver blue. I only shave every other day so a blade lasts me a week or so. Now I'm on the hunt for an aristocrat. I have a slim, a super adjustable, a NEW, a Tech, etc. I really like the vintage Gillettes. Not that I don't like my modern razors, but I think I'm going to do some housecleaning soon on B/S/T here. There are some that just aren't getting any use.
