These come up on Massdrop from time to time. I got mine for $150 including shipping to Canada. They just had one in May, but if you sign up, they notify you when the next one comes up.

It's $155 on Amazon now and has been for a while. Sometimes you can catch it cheaper. Keep in mind this is for the razor with 5 blades, and not the one that comes with a stand. There is one for sale on the BST right now for $150 that has the stand, so that's a really good deal.

You're right. I just realized that isn't a Feather stand, or at least not the one I saw on Amazon.

You replied too fast before I could correct my post. I realized what you meant and updated it. Good catch. Apparently I didn't pay close attention.

If you're referring to my BST, yes it's an aftermarket stand. Co-incidentally it complements the razor very well IMO.

I couldn't justify the premium that feather was charging for it's stand.... it's only a hunk of metal afterall...

It is a nice looking stand and I know what you mean on the Feather one. I'd love to have it but couldn't justify the price when I bought my AS-D2.

How do you think Feather could improve on the AS-D2? Its a marvel of design and function. Everything you need and nothing that you don't.

To be honest, I don't think there is anything to improve. The only thing I would be interested in is a polished version of the same stainless AS-D2. Perhaps a Feather SE would be something I'd consider if it's as forgiving as the AS-D2.

Yeah that would be cool. I'm sure you can get one polished by a machinist or someone like that - I seem to recall seeing a polished ATT razor on the SOTD some point back. It had to have been done after market. It looked cool, better than the very utilitarian finish they come with. You could use the Atlas handle on my ATT as a mill file. You could also get your AS-D2 coated in many cool colours at Delta Echo like churchilllafemme has done.

I thought about maybe having Delta Echo or someone do something to it, but after thinking about it I prefer to keep it original. If the name ever wears off of the top cap then I may polish it, but that has not even started to happen. I like the look of it as is, just think a polished option would be nice too.
