Favorite face Washes?

Believe it or not, I use the Kiss My Face “Shave” line as a nighttime facial wash (brushless application). Yes, I know it is a shave soap (at least marketed as such). But I tried it kind of on a whim for a week and my face has never been clearer, felt cleaner, or been better moisturized. And it’s generally more affordable per use than most facial washes in tube form.

I have been using Dapper Dragon bar soap since I got the recipe where I like it, but before that I had good results from Dove+Men face wash and Aveeno.

Same here with my own recipe, and it's time to make more.

I like Cremo face wash, but lately have been using the facial soap from Sudsy Soapery and it’s been fantastic.

I will crow a little bit in that friends tell me that I have the face of a man much younger than I am as I take care of my skin methodically and have done a ton of objective research as well, FWIW.

Pre-shave wash is far more important than what many believe. As an example I had a tube of L'Oreal Charcoal Face Wash and quit using it as a pre-shave wash as it stripped the face down to "bare paint" and the shaves were rougher. I have since switched to Phisoderm and more recently Neutrogena Deep Clean wash before shaving. Two or three times per week I also use a generic salicylic acid facial scrub before shaving. After shaving I use CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser which is truly incredible stuff.

The trick is to use salicylic acid either as a pre-shave wash or after the shave. It prevents ingrown hairs as well as shaving bumps via exfoliation on a microscopic level.

As a final note, I managed to score a small sample of the incredible facial cleanser Drunk Elephant No. 9 which is exorbitantly priced at $34 for a tube, but it is simply incredible stuff.

Been using the cerave hydrating face wash in the winter and the regular wash rest of the year (have normal skin ) And they work great. Hardly ever need to moisturize because of them.

Where do you purchase the generic salicylic acid facial scrub?

Cerave Hydrating cleanser twice a day. Great simple stuff and available all over. For years I was stripping my skin with harsh products and paid the price. Glad I finally found something that works and isn’t harsh.

Been using CetaPhil and phisoDerm Sen Skin. CetaPhil has been ok - maybe slightly less so than pure glycerin soap without additives my MD friend made BUT the phisoDerm is PERFECT. Face is thoroughly cleaned, fresh and NO residue. Affordable and new favourite is phisoDerm Sen Skin Thanks guys for starting this thread!

PhisoDerm is an old time product that has had several owners in the past recently yet gets little traction in today's market. I have to order it from Walgreens online and have it shipped for free to a local Walgreens store. It works like no other IMO.
