I too have struggled with what constitutes a Barbershop scent; I like many but none really remind me of barbershops to be honest. My main memories revolve more around aftershaves such as Pinaud, Lucky Tiger and Bay Rum. Having said that, I do like the "clean" scent associated with Barbershop soaps such as Barrister_N_Mann Seville..
Stirling Barbershop from ezlovan is excellent too. Mystic Water Barbershop is very solid as well. WSP Barbershop too.

Until recently I was in the camp that didn't care for the "barbershop" scent.....until I tried a sample of Stirling's Barbershop scent in bath soap. Wow! I love it. Stirling's barbershop scent is now a regular in my shaving rotation as well as in bath soaps. I've decided to open my mind a little and embrace barbershop scents generally. Perhaps I was a bit hasty in forming my opinion You're never too old to learn new things I guess.

Mickey Lee The Kraken gets an honorable mention.
^This is spot on! I'll also have to throw in Maggard London Barbershop and Mike's (they smell exactly the same). Stirling and MW smell very similar as well.

I noticed that about MW & Stirling too. I think the MW is a little less sweet once lathered than Stirling, but they are still very close.

Great thread. I've tried a few now, ranked below, with my scent descriptions added. While I enjoy all of them, the top 2 are the only ones I would really consider buying again. I know someone mentioned that MW is closest to Stirling. I've heard Seville is closest to WSP. How does Fine compare to the ones listed below? Any others I should try if I really love original Clubman and Stirling?
-Clubman Original AS - I really don't know how to describe this one other than barbershoppy. This is the ultimate for me.
-Stirling Barbershop soap - Powdery
-Wet Shaving Products (WSP) Barbershop - Lemony
-Mike's Barbershop - Lavender

I cannot speak to Clubman but for the other three, none of them are even close. The scent of AB is old fashioned, more in line with the old school. The other three are "modern" powdery, etc. AB is more unique, like Eucris.
